Game 1 – Hattricks at Expendables
The Expendables jumped out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to doubles from Ray Brittingham and Bill Larkin, but then Hattricks went HAM in the second, scoring 8 including a Grand Slam from Basil Papnicolopoulous.
Then it became catch-up time for the Expendables. 1 in the second, 4 in the third thanks to Adam Weaver’s RBI double, 2 in the fourth thanks to Bryan Rem’s RBI double, and one in the fifth thanks to Matt Keller’s RBI double.
By the top of the seventh, Hattricks found themselves down 10-8 and looking to rally. After a single and a walk, Basil Papnicolopoulous doubled in one run, leaving runners on second and third with two outs…but that’s where the rally would end.
Final Score: The Expendables 10 Hattricks 9
Player of the Game: In a losing effort, it still has to be Basil Papnicolopoulous for going 2 for 5 with a double, a homerun, 5 RBIs and 1 Runs Scored.

Game 2 – Hattricks at MaGerks
A small-ball first inning yielded a 4-0 lead for Hattricks before Frank Turco doubled, helping MaGerks to half the lead in the bottom half.
In the second Ron Gallagher homered, scoring 2, putting Hattricks back up by 4 and then the lead was extended to 7 when Basil Papnicolopoulous tripled, plating 2 more.
But MaGerks would begin really fighting back in the bottom of the third, as Steve Walker blasted a solo homer and then Anthony Madoni and Frank Turco went back-to-back with tripled, scoring 5 in the process. They’d take the lead in the fifth as Walker, Turco and Jeff Tongue all doubled. Then they added one more for good measure in the sixth, making it an 11-9 game.
But Hattricks wouldn’t go quietly, again using small-ball to their advantage. Two quick singles and a couple of sac flies saw them take the lead 12-11 before MaGerks came to bat in the seventh. But MaGerks could only manage one long single, falling short of the comeback.
Final Score: Hattricks 12 MaGerks 11
Player of the Game: Frank Turco went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a triple, 2 RBIs and 3 Runs scored.

Game 3 – MaGerks at Jackhammers
The Jackhammers nabbed the early 2-1 lead on the back of 4 singles, and then added another in the second with a Glen Hipple triple.
But then MaGerks had themselves an inning, highlighted by Brian Hilbert’s 2-RBI double. They plated 9 in-all, taking the 10-3 lead halfway through the third.
The Jackhammers would try to fight back, scoring 2 in the bottom of the third. Then the teams traded 1-run innings in the fourth, as Blaze Contino doubled for MaGerks and Tom Lydon doubled for the jackhammers. In the fifth, they traded 2-run innings, as MaGerks hit a ton of singles and the Jackhammers were led by Jason Cooper and Mike Zahradnick’s back-to-back doubles.
And that’s where the scoring would end, making for an uneventful final frame.
Final Score: MaGerks 13 Jackhammers 8
Player of the Game: Brian Hilbert came up big, going 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs and a Run Scored.

Game 4 – Randazzos at Hambinos
Randazzos struck first blood in this one as Casey Condron doubled and scored in the top of the first. But Hambinos would answer right back, scoring 5 on a slew of singles and Joe Pizzola’s 2-RBI double.
Randazzos scored 2 more in the third, cutting into the lead, as Ryan Legeckus and Pete Corrigan both doubled…but then this thing turned ugly.
5 more in the second for Hambinos as Marc Corpora, Mike Muluhill and Matt Lohen all doubled. 3 more in the third as Nick Hellar homered. 6 more in the fifth, as Tony Stevens tripled and Lohen smacked his third double of the day…and that’d be all she wrote.
Final Score: Hambinos 19 Randazzos 4
Player of the Game: Matt Lohen went 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 Runs scored.

Game 5 – Hambinos at Randazzos
The rubber match between these two teams would be a lot closer. Tony Stevens doubled in the first, helping Hambinos to take an early 2-0 lead, and then Randazzos halved that in the second.
Hambinos won the third, 3-2, even though Pete Corrigan and Harry Steglich both doubled for Randazzos.
The fourth inning was a 3-2 win for Randazzos, as Casey Condron doubled and then Corrigan blasted a 3-run homer.
Down 7-6 in the sixth, Condron got things going again for Randazzos with a triple. He’d later score and tie the game.
In the seventh, Hambinos woke back up and used 4 singles to score 4 runs, taking the lead into the bottom of the seventh.
In the bottom half, Randazzos would load the bases with no outs before Ryan Legeckus singled, knocking in 2, but Arik Fenton would get caught trying to score on the play for the inning’s first out. Two batters later, Brandon Crockett would knock in a run, making it a 1-run game on his fielder’s choice. But with one on and two out, Casey Condron flew out, ending the game.
Final Score: Hambinos 11 Randazzos 10
Player of the Game: In a losing effort, Pete Corrigan went 4 for 4 with a double, homerun, 4 RBIs and 2 Runs Scored.
