Championships at the Quarry

Game #1 – Andy’s vs. Dugout Demons
Andy’s start the game off with three straight walks to set up a Warrant Grant and Brittany Ulman sac fly giving them an early 3-0 lead. Demons answer quickly with a two run bomb from John Erb getting them to within one run. Defense shuts down the second inning as neither team score any. Andy’s go back to work in the third with a two run bomb off the bat of Chase Luxton driving their lead up to 5-2. Demons snatch the lead in the bottom of the inning with RBI singles from Jon Poore and Nick Mancini as well as a two run double from Zach Martin. The long ball continues in the fifth as Luxton has a two run bomb for Andy’s and Poore had a two run bomb for Demons. Andy’s tie the game up in the top of the sixth with a Danielle Buzin RBI single heading to the bottom of the sixth. Alex Elmore gives Demons the lead for an RBI triple. Andy’s respond quickly getting a two run double from Mike Koz to take the lead. Grant then smacks a RBI single setting up another two run bomb from Chase Luxton, his third home run of the game as Andy’s build their lead to 15-10. Demons go down in order and fall in Game 1 15-10.

Game #2 – Dugout Demons vs. Andy’s
Game two starts off with a RBI triple and RBI double respectfully from Erb and Ted Peck. Andy’s answer with four runs as Grants smacks a RBI double and Ulman knocks in two with a double of her own. Zack Martin for Demons quickly make up that difference with a bases clearing triple. A batter later, Poore knocks in one with a single to give them the lead at 7-5. Neither team pushes any runs across in the third as Demons maintain their two run lead. Martin pushes that to four with a two run bomb. Tom Mason cuts that in half pushing two runs across on a two run single. Demons continue to string hits together scoring three more runs with a Jenn Sevitski RBI single Sean P sac fly and Julie Wombold RBI walk. Demons grab two more runs later in the game, but shut down Andy’s in the sixth and seventh innings, giving Demons the win in this one. Demons win 14-9.

Game #3 – Andy’s vs. Dugout Demons
The final game starts with Andy’s going right to work. Luxton starts with a RBI double followed by a RBI single from Mike Koz and they jump out to a 3-0 lead. Demons cut into that with a Ted Peck two run single. Hesdon increases Andy’s lead slicing a two run double as they open it up to a 5-2 lead. Andy’s continue to stay hot in the third with four more runs. Koz, Grant and Mason all had RBI’s in the inning. Poore starts the comeback for Demons as he smashes a two run homer into the woods make it a 9-4 lead. Luxton and Koz continue to smash the ball as they push across two more runs with Jeff Uter also help with a RBI triple as we stand at 12-5 after four runs. Neither teams scores in the fifth as time starts to wind down. After Koz and Grant net Andy’s four more runs on back to back RBI hits, Demons throw up a massive inning to get back into the game. Thrasher and Martin had RBI singles and Berry, Poore, Erb and Mancini had RBI doubles in the inning. In the end, Demons push twelve runs across and pull to within one run. Andy’s go down in the top of the seventh as we head to the final inning of this series with Demons down one. Laureen Wood starts with an opening walk followed by a Berry single. After a Poore walk loads the bases, Erb delivers with a bases clearing hit as Demons win the game in walk off fashion. Demons win 18-16.
