Game #1 – Dug Out Demons vs. Sandlot Sluggers

Sluggers get the early lead thanks to a two run bomb off the bat of Tom Koezler. Demons take the lead in the second on a sac fly from Ron Bannister and two run triple from Ben Razzi. Koezler was back at it again, keeping his team in this game and smashing a three run bomb. The next couple of innings are highlighted by defensive plays, but we sit at 8-7 in favor of Sandlot Sluggers as we head to the seventh. Demons take the lead on a sac fly from Cody Runner and RBI single from Jake Haber. Sluggers get a solo homer from Jake Seymour to tie this game up and head to extra innings. Neither team scores in the eighth or ninth inning which takes us to a 10th inning. Demons get three runs after back to back RBI singles from Bill Shallcross and Jay Pane to head into the bottom of the inning up 12-9. Sluggers get a couple of runs from RBI singles from Jarret Kerns and Krysta Wellington before Nick Maile steps to the plate and demolishes a ball into the quarry woods, winning this one in walkoff fashion. Sluggers win 16-12.

Player of the Game:

Game #2 – Sandlot Sluggers vs. Dug Out Demons

Game 2 starts off slow after the crazy ending we had in game 1. Sluggers take the first lead in the game in the third inning when they get score three runs and take a 4-1 lead. Nick Maile had an RBI double and Jackie Heim and Kerns had RBI singles in the inning. Demons respond in the bottom of the inning for five runs. Runner and Hooker had the big hits respectfully with a two run double and solo homer. Axel nets Sluggers another run in the fourth, but offense would start to become scarce from there. Demons have another big inning in the fourth, this time scoring four. Runner had a two run triple and Hooker had a sac fly in the inning. Runner adds a homer late in this game as Demons will roll pretty easy. Demons win 13-6.

Player of the Game:
Cody Runner (Demons) – 2B, 3B, HR, 5 RBI’s

Game #3 – Dug Out Demons vs. Sandlot Sluggers

We get started fast in the final game of the series with Hooker knocking in two on a two run triple and then later scoring on an error. Sluggers answer back in a big way off a three run bomb to the moon off the bat of Koelzer. Sluggers take the lead in the third, with a five run inning, in big part thanks to an Alex Shapiro two run double and Jackie Heim fielder’s choice. Demons go cold for a couple of innings before getting one run in the fifth on a Ron Bannister sac fly. With their backs against the wall and trailing 9-5, Demons are down to their final three outs. Keppley gets the scoring started with an RBI single a batter later, Runner ties the game on a three run bomb. Sluggers go down in order in the bottom of the inning as we head to extra innings again. Demons take a one run lead on a Bannister sac fly and head to the bottom of the inning with now Sluggers down to their last three outs. Sluggers get the first runner on, but can’t push any across and will fall just short of the chip. Demons win 10-9.
