Game #1 – Gooey Batters vs. Sons of Pitches

Gooey Batters come out firing early in this one sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring four runs. This comes from RBI singles from Andrew Stoner and Laura Levine as well as a RBI walk from Jess Stoner and RBI hit from Caroline Kovacs. Pitches respond and then some in the bottom of the inning with eight runs of their own. Jon Motts start the scoring with a two run double and a couple batters later, Kevin Fink smashed a three run bomb. Jon Duchette, Kaelyn Motts and Dad Motts also added RBI singles in the inning. Pitches bat around again in the bottom of the second to score another nine runs. Jon Motts delivered the big blow with a Grand Slam. Jill Beck also help with an RBI double. After a hot start, Gooey batter struggle at the plate over the next couple innings. Pitches come back in the bottom of the third with another 11 runs to really break this game open. Pete Edgar, J. Motts, D Motts, Fink and Dan Geiger all added RBI’s in the inning. This game ends early due to mercy rule. Pitches win 28-4.

Game #2 – New Age vs. LA Pools

New Age jump out to a quick 5-0 lead after back to back RBI singles from Bill Hood and Jim Kennedy followed by a three run bomb into the quarry woods. Pools get two runs back with an RBI double from Mike Cianfichi and RBI single from Joan Glass. Pools take the lead in the second with an RBI single from Rich Reinheimer and two run triple from Greg Reilly. Back and forth we go as in the bottom of the third, Pools take the lead again. Reinheimer was back at it again with a bases clearing triple followed by another bases clearing hit, this time a Mike Cianfichi three run double. New Age cuts the deficit to two after a RBI double from Josh Worden and two run single from Hood. Pools tack on another six runs in the fifth. Glen Hipple had two RBI’s in the inning. Pools get a two run bomb from Hood and solo bomb from Kennedy late, but it ends up being too little too late. Pools win 20-15.

Game#3 – Roos vs. Carrolls

The last game of the night starts off with back to back RBI doubles from Jeremy Viallo and Dave Cunningham. Carrolls respond with one run of their own in the bottom of the inning. This game from a sac fly from Bryan Bart. Defense shuts down the second with no runs from either team. Anthony Crawford drops a two run bomb for Roos in the top of the third, but that is quickly responded by RBI’s from John Zeits and Ray Patano. Roos increase their lead to 10-3 after a Jake Blum RBI double, Crawford two run single and Viallo two run home run. Doug Farrar added a solo home run in the fifth inning for Roos before Carrolls started to mount their comeback. Carrolls grabbed five runs over the sixth and seventh inning off a Hallie Bilker two run double and Ray Patano RBI single. In the end, it was not enough as they fall in this one. Roos win 11-8.
