Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. LA Pools

Both teams come out in the playoff game making plays on the defensive side of the ball. We go through three complete innings before we see any runs cross the plate. Carroll’s get the ball rolling in this one scoring three runs in the top of the fourth after Bryan Bart and Ray Patano start the inning with a walk and single respectfully and then Greg Lesher smashes a three run bomb. Pools get a hit in the bottom of the inning, but can’t push any runs across. The same goes in the fifth for Pools as a walk and single start the inning, but can’t show anything for it. Pools finally cash in with a Glen Hipple RBI hit and Greg Lavin sac fly to bring them to within one. Pools come up in the seventh and get the winning run on base, but that is where they leave them. Pools fall one short in this contest and will need to wait until the summer to get back to the playoffs. Carroll’s win 3-2.

Neither team scores in the fifth as defense shuts down the inning. Blue Dog finally gets on the board in the sixth with three runs on a John Rodriguez two run double and Donna Finlayson RBI single.
