Game #1 – New Age vs. Dug Out Demons

New Age grabs an early lead with a Bill Hood sac fly. Demons come right back in the bottom of the inning a Kevin Roche two run bomb into the woods. Demons open up a bigger lead in the second inning scoring eight runs and take an 8-2 lead. Phil Black started the scoring with a RBI single followed by a Rob Lyons sac fly and RBI singles from Roche and Bill Shallcross. Nick Mancini and Evan Porter also had RBI triples in the inning. Porter knocks in another run a couple of innings later with a solo bomb. Demons put the game away late with another solo dinger, this one off the bat of Shallcross. In the end, Demons roll to an easy win and move on to play later in the day. Demons win 14-4.

Player of the Game:
Kevin Roche (Demons) – 2/3, 1B, HR, 4 RBI’s


Game #2 – The Maize vs. Andy’s

Andy’s come rolling out of the gate early in this one as they bat around in the first inning and drop and eight spot in the inning. Jason Ashworth dropped a three run bomb to get it started and later was followed up by RBI singles from Ian Cuozzo, Jay Cybok and Chris Hesdon. They get three more runs in the second with RBI singles from Warren Grant and Adam Lightkep and an RBI double from Mike Koz. The Maize continue to struggle at the plate and only score one run across the first three innings. Andy’s put this game away late with a Jay Pane RBI double and Ron Pulli two run double. Andy’s will win this and move on to the semifinals

Game #3 – Carroll’s vs. Dug Out Demons

Demons come out in this one hoping to swing the bats like they did in game 1. Carroll’s take the early 2-1 lead after a two run homer from Greg Lesher. Demons catch the spark they were looking for and put up a whopping 11 runs in the bottom of the second. Lauren Wood, Black, Lyons and Roche smack RBI singles to get the scoring started and Porter smashes a three run bomb to clear everyone else. Jenn S and Bannister add RBI singles as well in the inning. Black continues to crush it at the plate and delivers a RBI double in the third to continue to the Demons lead. Carroll’s try to crawl back in the fourth and fifth innings as they deliver four runs in each inning and bring the lead down to nine. Lesher had a two run double in the inning as well as RBI’s from McClintock and Mike Stacey. The Demons lead ends up being too much as they hold on and take the win in this one, securing a spot in the Championship. Demons win 19-10.

Game #4 – Wackers vs. Andy’s

The final game of the night starts off slow with only one run across the first two innings. This came off of an Erick S sac fly. Andy’s finally get the bats going in the third inning pushing five runs across. Pane had an RBI single and Luxton had a big bases clearing triple. Defense controls a big part of the middle innings as both teams stick around in this one. Wackers tie this game in the sixth inning making it a 5-5 game grabbing three runs in the inning. Erick S had another good inning grabbing an RBI single and Bill B had knocked a two run double. Andy’s respond in the bottom of the sixth and take the lead thanks to a Luxton RBI double. Andy’s shut the door in the seventh as they do not allow any more runs and lock in their spot in the chip. Andy’s win 7-5.
