Week 4 at the Quarry

Game #1 –Carroll’s vs. Dug Out Demons
Demons get the scoring started in this one with a Zack Martin RBi double followed by a sac fly by John Poore. Julie Wambold and Bryan Peterman follow that up with run scoring singles to give them a 5-0 lead out of the gate. They double their lead in the third after putting up another six runs. John Erb, Nick Mancini and Alex Elmore had RBI singles and Peterman added a two run single in the inning. Carroll’s finally get on the board in the fourth after struggling at the plate for the first three innings. Greg Lesher had a RBI double and Bryan Bart had an RBI single for them. They grab another two runs in the sixth inning with a RBI single from Kyle Gallagher and sac fly from Lesher to cut the lead down to eight. Demons quickly expand their lead again getting RBI singles from Mancini and Wombold as they push it back up to 16-4. The leather is flashed again from Demons as they shut down Carroll’s for only four runs in this game. Demons win 16-4.

Game #2 – Sharks vs. Andy’s
The second game starts up with a RBI single from Jeff Uter. Sharks respond with a big second inning as they send one across the plate on a RBI walk from Bill Moore and two run single from Ed Doyle. Sharks grab two more in the top of the third off a Steve Reichling two run single making it a 6-1 Sharks lead. Warren Grant cuts that lead down as he smacks a two run double later scoring on an error to bring it back to 6-5. After shutting down the Sharks in the top of the fourth, Andy’s grab another couple runs and take the lead heading to the fifth. Danielle Buzin and Kris Smedley grab the RBI’s in the inning. In the fifth , Sharks push one run across and Andy’s get two across making this game dead tied heading to the sixth. That’s where it heats up. Doyle knocks a two run triple and then Glen Hipple hits a RBI single to give them a 10-7 lead. Chase Luxton, Tom Mason and Chris Hesdon start the bottom of the inning with RBI singles for Andy’s which ties this game up. Smedley then gives them the lead with a RBI single. That is followed by a two run double from Uter, two run single from Grand and RBI single from Jason Pane. In the end they score twelve runs and make it a very long game. It ends up being the last inning as they end early due to time limit. Andy’s win 19-10

Game#3 – Bry Lex vs. LA Pools
Our third game begins with two runs across for Bry Lex with RBI’s coming from Kerry Donohoe and Steph Hines. Greg Lavin gets one back for Pools with a RBI single. K. Donohoe gets right back at it in the second with an RBI single which is followed up by a bases clearing triple from Cody Miller. Lowell Snyder also adds a sac fly in the inning to give Bry Lex a 7-1 lead. Bry Lex would add five more runs across the next couple innings, get two RBI singles from Colin Donohoe , an RBI single from Cindy Snyder and an RBI double from L. Snyder. Pools stuggle at the plate and can’t get back to their scoring ways until the fifth inning in which they push five across. Lavin had an RBI triple and Mike Cianfishi had a two run home run. Eric Rosenblum smacked a two run double in the fifth to open Bry Lex lead back out to 15-6 as they continue to crusie in this one. Miller crushes another triple late in the game to really seal this one as Bry Lex closes this one out quick. Bry Lex wins 18-7.

Game #4 –Bry Lex vs. Shark’s
Bry Lex bats stay hot as they push five runs across in the top of the first. Miller started the scoring with a sac fly followed by a L. Snyder RBI double, S. Hines RBI single and C. Snyder two run single. Lisa Silvestri and Steve Rechling respond with RBI singles which is then followed by Tom Finn RBI triple. L. Snyder continues to hit well and grabs an RBI single in the next inning. Sharks grab four big runs in the bottom of the third with back to back RBI singles from Tom McCarthy and Rechling as well as a Finn RBI double. Bry Lex bats go quiet for the next couple of innings as Sharks are able to get four across. Silvestri, Doyle and Sharp get RBI singles and Pierce had an RBI double and take a 12-8 lead. C. Miller gets back to his triple ways as he smashes his third triple of the day, this time scoring two runs. L. Snyder, Bryce Bunday and Eric Rosenblum get RBI singles in the inning to take a one run lead. Back and forth we go as in the bottom of the inning and Sharks take the lead. Finn smacks the RBI single to take the lead. Colin Donohoe gets the game tieing run as he smashes an RBI double, but they can’t get any more as we end in a tie.
