Game #1 – Dugout Demons vs. Carroll’s Jewelers

Demons get this year started with a bang as the bat around in the first inning of play to score a whopping 17 runs. Keith Keppley and Cody Runner get it started with back to back hits which sets up a three run bomb from Pat Kelly. Charlie Hooker makes it back to back homers with a solo shot a batter later. Ron Bannister nets Demons two more runs later in the inning with a two run single. Cody Runner nets them two more runs with his second at bat, smashing a two run triple. Bill Shallcross and Jason Pane round out the inning with two more RBI’s. Carroll’s get one run back on a Greg Lesher hit. Demons have a slow second inning not scoring any, but quickly recover and send another 6 runs across home as they take this one easy. Kelly had another homer, his second of the game, while Jake Haber, Pane and Bannister all netted one more RBI. Demons win easy 23-1.

Player of the Game:
Pat Kelley (Demons) – 3/4, 2 HR’s, 6 RBI’s



Game #2 – Carroll’s Jewelers vs. Rock and Rebel Saloon

Carroll’s look to forget about the first game and come out strong getting seven runs across in the first. Bob McClintock and Ray Patano both net 2 RBI’s and Kelly Gallagher and Steve DiGiovanni had RBI singles. Carroll’s keep it going in the second inning with a three run bomb from Lesher. The home runs continue to roll for Carroll’s as they get a three run bomb from Kyle Gallagher in the third inning as they continue to dominate this one. Rock and Rebel struggles only getting one run across early. Carroll’s hitting streak continues as the whole team is getting involved in the hitting party. Carroll’s get vengeance from their big game one loss and come back with a big win in game two. Carroll’s win 27-2.

Player of the Game:
Kyle Gallagher (Carroll’s) – 3/4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI’s



Game #3 – Bry Lex vs. Sandlot Sluggers

The third game of the night gets started with a Jackie Heim RBI hit. Sluggers get back to hitting in the third when they net three more runs of two run doubles from Jarret Kerns and Tom Koelzer. Bry Lex gets on the board in the fourth on a Bryce Bundy RBI triple. Sluggers answer back in the bottom of the inning with a sac fly from Krysta Wellington and RBI single from Nick Maile. Bry Lex continue to struggle on opening night as they cannot push any runs across the next couple of innings. Sluggers look to put this game late in this one. Jenn Sevitski clears the bases for 3 RBI’s and Jake Seymour nets one more with an RBI single as they will take this one. Sluggers win 11-1.

Game #4 – The Maize vs. Whole Lotta Motts

The Maize gets the final game of the night started with four runs out of the gate. Gary Kleinschmidt, Keith Bellinger, Donna Hazzlet and Bill Worthington all have RBI singles. Motts look to get that back in the bottom of the inning. Evan Porter starts it with an RBI triple followed by a CJ Motts RBI double. Carl Motts and Lauren Duchetter also add RBI singles in the inning as well as they take a 5-4 lead after an inning of play. Motts keep it rolling with six more runs in the second. Porter and Jon Motts had back to back RBI triples. Kevin Motts also added an RBI in the inning. Porter kept Motts rolling an inning later with a three run bomb deep into the quarry woods. Four more runs in the fifth inning for Motts put this game away as they run away with this and win on mercy rule. Motts win 20-5.
