Game #1 – Sandlot Sluggers vs. Chapman

Chapman strike first and gets a couple runs over the first couple of innings. Shawn Murphy and Lauren Fitzgerald had RBI singles in the effort. Sluggers break out in the third and get on the board with seven runs. Alex Shapiro and Jarret Kerns knock in a run on RBI singles and Curt Hensman brings in a run on a sacrifice fly. Sluggers erupt for nine runs in the fifth as they really look to take control of this one. Nick Maile and Bddy Schwarz draw RBI walks setting up an Alex Sharpio grand slam. Axel seals this game with a sixth inning three run bomb as Sluggers come on late and win big. Sluggers win 22-5.

Game #2 – Carroll’s Jewlers vs. Whole Lotta Motts

Kyle Gallagher gets Carroll’s going with a sac fly, which is followed up by a Bryan Bart RBI single as they take the early 2-0 lead. Motts answer the call with back to back RBI singles from CJ Motts and Carl Motts, and then take the lead on an Evan Porter fielder’s choice which drives in a run. Motts take the lead in the second after Greg Reilly and Jon Motts net two more RBI singles and lead 8-4 after two innings. Carroll’s take the lead in the fourth netting four runs, two coming off the bat of a Greg Lesher two run single. Motts take control back again in the fifth. Jon Motts, Carl Motts and Evan Porter grab RBI singles in the inning as well as a Kaelyn Motts RBI single. Again, Carroll’s fight back. Lesher had an RBI single and Gallagher nets one on a sac fly. We stand tied at 13 heading into the seventh. Carroll’s get a baserunner, but can’t push him across meaning Motts needing one run to win. CJ Motts gets on with a leadoff triple and Carl Motts scores him with a sac fly as they will take this one in walkoff fashion. Motts win 14-13.

Game #3 – Dug Out Demons vs. The Maize

Demons come out of the gates flying scoring nine runs in the first inning. Pat Kelly gets the scoring started followed by a two run bomb off the bat of Charlie Hooker. Bill Shallcross and Kevin Graham smack back to back RBI doubles later in the inning to help round out the scoring. Demons keep it going in the second with Ron Bannister getting a two run single, Kelly with an RBI double and Haber with an RBI single. Shallcross and Graham again add another run off a hit. The longball strikes again for Demons, with Pat Kelly going deep, a three run shot. In much of the theme of the day, Demons continue to hit the ball well with Hooker getting another homer, this time a grand slam as Demons are all over this game. Demons win 28-5.
