Game One: Da Bears v. Team Horsham

Bears coming is as the lower seed, but it didn’t matter. The offense exploded for 24 runs through 5 innings. Sean Valenza drove in 5 runs and Matt Kohn doubled and homered…driving in 4. Kyle Lockard had a perfect 4-4 day which included 2 doubles and 3 runs scored.

Horsham had no answer. Mike Harmon did have a 3-3 night with a double and Jarret Prendergast scored twice on 2 hits. Horsham managed just 8 runs scored and were sent home early.


Game Two: Pitches Be Crazy v. Beers

Unfortunately another playoff blow out. PBC had just 9 men on the field and scored just 3 runs. Alex Freeman, Blake Contano and Brian Hughes all scored in the 3rd.

Beers smelled blood and took full advantage. Batting around in the 1st, 11 runs were plated. Ryan Whitely had a bases-clearing triple in the 1st, Justin Bathurst doubled home 2 in the 2nd, Rich Acierno doubled home a run in the 3rd and Chris Anhalt tripled home a run in the 4th. Rich Aciero had himself a game going 4-4…hitting for the cycle. He drove in 4 and scored 3. Beers win handidly, 23-3.



Game Three: Da Bears v. Vertex

The blow out trends continued. This time Da Bears was on the receiving end. Matt K tripled ome 2 runs in the 1st and Sean V had a 3-run shot in the 6th to help Bears score 11 times.

Issue was, Vertex fared better offensively. Vertex put on a clinic with Shane Hannah going 4-4 and coming up a HR short of the cycle. Shane had 5 rbi. Matt Crowell and Keith Crowell both went yeard with their respective 2-run homers while Matt crossed the plate 4 times on the night. Vertex plated 24 and advance to the Finals.



Game Four: Beers v. Just Food

Beers put a nice fight in on the semi-final game of the night. Ryan Whiteley was 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi. Alex Goldberg’s 2-run single in the 4th helped plate 7 for the game as Beers finished with 9 runs scored.

But Just Food showed why they were the #1 seed with a poised and consistent hitting approach. Brandon Birkhead has the game of the night. Brandon went 3-4 with all 3 hits being home runs. A 3-run shot in the 1st, a 2-run shot in the 2nd and a solo blast in the 6th. Mike Casbar also went yard in the 2nd as Just Food plated 16 and advance to face Vertex in the Finals!
