Post by latincontrol »

The Tuesday Night Men’s League kicks off it’s season with 4 games on the docket.

Game 1: Toto Financial/Kiefer Landscaping v Porsche of the Main Line

Mike Koszowski led the way for Toto/Kiefer with a 3 rbi night. His production helped the Toto/Kiefer squad plate 16 runs for the game. Jay Cybok started a nice 8-run 3rd inning which was capped by Chris Worniak’s 2—run double.
Toto/Kiefer’s squad would have fared well in this game if not for the 4 errors committed in the 4th inning. The meltdown led to 10-run 4th for Porsche. Bob Arogeros had 2 hits in the inning alone while also driving in 3 in the same inning. Kris Carr and Eric Beatty both scored 4 times in the game as Porsche went on to score 18 and take the season opener by 2.

Game 2: Vertex Pest Management v. Beers

This game would end with 42 total runs scored. Ryan Tessler has a HUGE game with a 6 rbi effort off of a 4-5 evening including a 2-run double in the 4th and a 2-run blast in the 7th. Beers scored 18 for the game.
But Vertex was equally impressive on offense. A massive 1st inning effort saw 19 men come to the plate. Keep in mind they were batting 14 in the line up and the first out was not recorded until the 14th batter. Chris Knechel was 2-2 in the first inning alone with a single and a home run while driving in 4. !3 of the 14 hitters in the line up scored a run in the 1st with Sean Nonemacher, Justin Miller and Chris both scoring twice. Sixteen runs scored in the first alone, while finishing with 24 for the game. Vertex holds back the Beers effort to win by 8.

Game 3: Just Food v. Slurricanes

Just Foods showed up for their season opener, but their team offense did not. Managing just 8 hits for the game and plating 2 runs, it was a long night. Rick Schimdt was the long highlight with 2 hits and a run scored.
For the Slurricanes to win this game they needed just Mike Henzel. Mike blasted two home runs in the game, 1 in the 3rd inning and another in the 4th inning leading to 5 runs. These 2 AB’s is all the Slurricanes needed to take this game.

Game 4: Mike’s York Street Bar & Grill v. Cale’s Pale Ale

Cale’s were led by John Pileggi who went 3-3 including 3 singles, 2 runs scored and 2 rbi’s. Dave Know tripled home 2 more and Cale’s plated 10 for the game.
Mike’s struggled to maintain any consistent offense. They plated 2 in the first and 2 in the 5th. Dennis DiAngelo scored 2 of those runs. In the 7th trailing 10-6, Mike’s attempts a rally. Joey doubled home a run and rbi singles by Sean Pena & Andy Markowitz make it 1 10-9 game. But a ground out to the pitcher end the rally and Cale’s wins 10-9.
