Week 3 - April 13th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One:

Beers v. Mike’s Var & Grill
The story of this game is the all-around performance of Beers. Fifteen runs scored on offense while holding Mike’s to just 5 hits in the game.
Beers got long balls from Ryan Maley (3rd inning – 2R HR) and Matt Kane…also a 2-run shot in the 2nd. Matt later tripled home 2 more runs and Scott Runzer finished 3-3. As mentioned earlier, this was all Beers, 15-0.

Game Two:

Philly Junk v. Dingers
Second game of the night, same story. This was a lopsided affair as Philly Junk crossed the plate 23 times while holding Dingers to just 4. Consecutive doubles by Brandon Miller and Jake Zbarsky along with a couple of error from Dingers helped those 4 runs score for Dingers.
Philly exploded in the first inning with 12 runs as Mike Bitterlich went 2-2 in the inning with a 3-run homer. Brandon Birkhead also homered in the 1st with a 3 run shot of his own. Ryan Habel finished with 4 rbi while Tom Ivers and Brett Anker both scored 4 times. Philly easy winners 23-4.

Game Three:

Dookie Brewster v. Wire 2 Wire
Trend continued, this time with the Dookie boys owning W2W. Zach Martin out of the lead off spot went 4-4 with 4 runs scored adding to 2-run homers by Tom Koelzer and Ryan Goodman.
W2W finished with just 3 runs on 11 hits. Bill Shallcross, Gene Walczak and Greg Guarino with the rbi producing AB’s. Dookie Brewster easy victors, 17-3.

Game Four:

Kings Corner v. HG Coal Fire Pizza
If you were expecting a different narrative for this game, well….nope.
The Pizza guys did manage to score 6 runs in the game as Mike Marcelline doubled home 2 in the 3rd and Tyler Cohen went 2-3 with a double and triple.
King’s Corner went off in the 2nd inning pushing 10 men across the plate and really it would be all they needed. Chris Kneckel with a 3-run blast in the big inning while Tom Egitto went 2-2 in the frame with a single and triple, scoring both times and driving in 2. Matt Schaub added a solo bomb in the 7th as the Kings men put up 20 and won decisively.
