Week 5 - April 27th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One:
HG Coal Fire Pizza v. Team Horsham

HG got rbi’s from Jake Layer and Brett Hassett in the 2nd inning which was followed up with Brendan Parker’s solo shot in the 3rd. Andrew Parker tripled home a run in the 7th and later scored on Mike Marcelline’s rbi single. Coal Fire Pizza finished with 6 runs in the game…not enough to win the night’s opening game.
Team Horsham had two innings of offense…which would be enough. Vince Paone drove in 2 runs with his single in the firt inning highlighting a 4-run frame. Thanks to a slew of errors in the 3rd inning, Horsham went on to plate 5 more men which ultimately decided the game. Team Horsham winners, 9-6.

Game Two:
Dookie Brewster v. Beers

Dookie looked to remain perfect in the loss column and it showed. After a quick run in the first inning by Zach Martin, he kept taking advantage of rbi chances throughout the game. A 2-run single in the 3rd, an rbi double in the 4th, and another rbi double in the 7th. Zach finished with 4 rbi. Tom Koelzer with a 3R HR in the 7th while Jarred Gardner drove in 3 more. Dookie with 18 runs scored in the game.
Unfortunately for Beers after starting 4-0, they were on their way to their 2nd loss. Not much offense at all until the 5th inning when they pushed 5 men across thanks to consecutive singles from Matt Kane, Alex Goldberg, Justin Bathurst, Chris Anhalt and Ryan Calabro. But that was it, and they suffer their second loss by way of an 18-5 spanking.

Game Three:
Philly Junk v. King’s Corner

This one, on paper, was a matchup to be excited for. A lot of offense potential…BUT…
While Philly Junk steadily performed at the plate…The King’s men struggled early. Philly got going quick after Brandon Birkhead smashed a 3 run homer in the 1st. Ryan Russell tripled home 2 in the 2nd, KC Ingram with a 3-run shot of his own in the 4th and Mike Bitterlich with a solo bomb in the 6th and a 2-run double in the 7th. Philly finished with 19.
King’s Corner VERY quiet early. John Erb drove in a run in the 1st with a single while Chris Abato drove in CY Snyder in the 2nd after he led off the frame with a double. Matt Schaub with a solo shot in the 4th…but to that point…only 3 runs scored. They exploded for 6 runs in the 6th and another 4 in the 7th but too late for the rally. Despite scoring 10 in the final 2 innings, they still fall by 6.

Game Four:
Wire 2 Wire v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

Mike’s looking to get out of the winless column and unfortunately it didn’t happen on this night. Rob Demko did drive in two runs in the first inning while Dave Demko did the same in the 2nd. Corey Eyerman with a triple in the 5th and Kyle Saba with a double in the 6th – But they managed just 9 runs.
W2W looked to remain consistent and they did. Phil Lipton drove in 4 runs and scored 4 more, Bill Shallcross with 5 ribbies and 3 runs scored, Jacob McDevitt with 4 runs scored and Adrian Reyes hitting at the bottom of the line up finished with 4 hits, 3 runs scored and 4 rbi. W2W stayed hot plating 25 and winning decisively.
