Week 9 - May 25th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One: Philly Junk v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

This was an absolute spanking. Mike’s was literally one hit from being ‘no-hit’ when Bob O’Brien singled with 1 out in the final inning. Corey Eyerman also singled while Matt McReynolds drew a walk. But that was it.
Philly on the other hand went nuts at the plate in just the 1st inning. With 10 men in their line up they sent 23 men to the plate as they batting around twice with some change. An unbelievable 20 runs were scored with Mike Bitterlich capping the 1st inning on-slaught with a grand slam. Brandon Birkhead doubled 3 times, scoring each time. I mean, a total beat down 26-0.

Game Two: Beers v. Team Horsham

Horsham got steady production throughout especially from Dan Lineberger who went 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI. Brett Saverio had a bases-clearing triple in the 3rd inning and Lule Gelhals finished with 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.
Horsham may have scored 14 for the game but Beers had 15 in the first inning alone. Ryan Maley and Scott Runzer went yard in back-to-back fashion and Ryan Henritzy smashed a 2-run shot in the same frame. Rich Acierno added a 3-run homer in the 2nd and back-to-back tripled from Ryan and Scott on the 7th led to the team’s 25th and 26th runs scored. Beers beaten in the first inning, 15-14.

Game Three: Dookie Brewster v. Dingers

Another absolute beatdown. Dingers had a 5 run-2nd inning highlighted by Pete Auteri’s 2-run homer and a 9-run 4th inning in which Mike Casbar homered and Eric Poppkee drove in 2 with a single.
But for Dookie, I mean…39 runs? Really? Tom K was 5-6 with two 3-run homers…finishing with 8 RBI, Jose R with 4 hits which included a double and 2 triples…he drove in 4, Ryan G with 5 hits on a 5-5 effort and scored 4 times and Axel hitting out of the 10th spot in the line-up went 3-5 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 5 RBI. Another beatdown on the night with Dookie Brewster dominating 39-14.

Game Four: Wire 2 Wire v. King’s Corner

W2W made this a game through the game’s mid-innings with a 6-run 4th inning effort. Bill W with the 2-run homer and Jacob M drove in a run with his single. Bill B doubled home a run in the 6th and Shawn B drove the team’s 9th run with his 6th inning single.
The King’s men got good production from the top of the order. Adam S from the 2-hole reached base all 4 AB’s with 2 hits and reaching on 2 errors. He went on to score 3 times. Chris K had a perfect night at the plate with a 4-4 effort which included a double and a triple…scoring 3 times and driving in 4. King’s Corner went on to score 15 and take this one by 6.
