Week 7 - June 5th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One: Cales Pals Ales v. Vertex
The Tuesday night circuit begins on this night with Joe Flynn tripling home a run after John Pileggi reached on an error. Dan Digiuseppe doubled home Joe Flynn and Brennan Rudnick in the 4th while Pileggi drove in another run with a 5th inning 1-out single. Cales plated 5 for the game.

As it usually is with softball, holding your opponent to 5 runs usually results in a W. Justin Miller was 2-3 with a walk, single and Home Run. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. So as you can see Justin nearly beat Cales on his own. We’ll throw in Nick Mailes 3-run shot in the 4th inning and well….Vertext scored 16 times. They win easy, 16-5.

Game Two: Toto/Kiefer v. Mikes Bar & Grill
2nd game of the night has the same result. A lop-sided affair.
Mark McLaughlin scored 3 times for Mikes and Slawamir Kawa scored 2 times. Dennis DiAngelo drove in 3 runs and Rich Stead tripled home a run in the 4th. Mikes finished with 9 for the game.

Problem for Mikes on this night was, they scored 9 but gave up a whole lot more. With the Toto/Kiefer line-up, you simply cannot field 9 on such a large field.
My goodness, this game was over in the 1st. The Toto/Kiefer line up had 11 hitters and each and every single one batted twice in just the 1st inning. Highlights included:
• Anthony Crawford, 6-6 with 4 singles, a double and a two-run HR.
• Brian Penecale, 6-6 with 3 singles and 3 Home Runs. How about 9 RBI?? Seriously?
The Toto/Kiefer line up hit 8 home runs in the game, two being Grand Slams. (John Kiefer and Brian Penecale). Final in this game…Toto.Kiefer 38 – Mike Bar & Grill 9.

Game Three: Slurricanes v. Beers
Third game of the night, same result. A blow out.
Mike Henzal played his part at the plate going 2-2 with 2 home runs. Chris Keller added a solo shot and Jean Miller Bowler finished the night 2-2 with 2 singles. Slurricanes plated 7.

A massive 2nd inning was all Beers’ needed. After batting around in the 1st…they doubled those efforts in the 2nd inning sending 21 men to the plate. Connor MacFarlane hit a solo bomb and Ryan Tessler drove in 3 runs in the 2nd inning in 2 AB’s. Alex Goldberg also drove in 3 and Ryan Malley had himself a game, but definitely had himself a 2nd inning with a 2-2 effort (both home runs). Beers win easily 23-7

Game Four: Rain Out
