Week 8 - June 12th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One: Mike’s bar & Grill v. Just Foods

Mikes got things going in the 2nd inning by plating 4 runs. Brian Hughes singled home a run after Rich Stead had doubled in one. Craig Henderson singled and scored in the 5th and Mikes added two other runs via defensive miscues.

Foods had themselves a nice showing off the bat of Anthony Caselli. From the lead-off spot he went 3-4 with 2 singles and a nice 2-run double in the 2nd. He also scored 3 times. Dave Iatarola and Connor O’Keefe both scored twice in the game and helped Foods score 12 times and taking the game, 12-4

Game Two: Toto/Kiefer v. Vertex

Vertex’s offense is usually not prone to being shut down but on this night, just the case. Sean Nonemacher was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 runs scored, but that’s basically it. Sprinkle in a handful of hits and 2 other runs scored, Vertex finished with just 4 runs.

The Toto/Kiefer crew also usually does not struggle offensively, and well, the same on this night. A monstrous 3rd inning was all they needed scoring 9 times. Chris Hackney, Mike Koz and Jay Cybok all drove in 2 runs in the frame. The 5th was the icing on the cake, plating 6 runs; Mike Brownie doubled home a run. Toto/Kiefer took the game easily, 20-4.

Game Three: Porsche of Main Line v. Beers

This game was a back and forth effort between both team scoring a total of 42 runs.

The 5th inning proved quite entertaining as Porsche plated 9 runs and Beers plated 6 runs.

A tremendous game from Bob Argeros. Check out his line.
4-4, BB, 2B, 3B, 2 HR (1st, 1 on, 1 out and 3rd, 0 on, 1 out) He finished with 6 rbi’s.

Equal to the task was Ryan Henritzy. Let’s look at this numbers.
3-4, 2B 2 HR (2nd, 2 on and 2 outs and 5th, 2 on and 1 out). Ryan finished with 6 rbis.

But the game would go to Beers. Porsche attempted a rally in the 7th, but after pushing 2 runs across fell short by just as many.

Game Four: Cales Pales Ales v. Slurricanes

The Pales kids were beneficiaries of 6 Slurricane erros which helped in their 10-run output. John PIleggi benefited from 2 of those E’s and went on to score 3 times. Joe Flynn also scored once after an error but did have 2 hits in the game. Seems like when Cales got hits, they got no runs. But if they received defensive help, they scored.

Slurricanes got a 3-rbi effort from the bats of Brandan Achenbach, Kyle Achenbach and Chris Keeler. Kyle Lockard finished 3-3 with a double and 2 runs scored, and Austin Egro went 2-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and 2 ribbies. Slurricanes pushed 16 men across the plate and took the nightcap.
