Week 2: April 9th

Game 1: Beers v. Vertex

Game 1 of this evening was all Vertex. After Richie Acierno tripled home 2 runs in the first inning, Ryan Maley was really the only offense the rest of the way when he singled and scored in the 3rd and doubled and scored in the 5th.

Shane Hanna had the big game for Vertex. A 4-5 night which included 3 singles, a double, 4 runs scored and 4 rbi. A huge 11 run, 3rd inning really blew the game open for Vertex. They won 22-7.

Game 2: Da Bears v. Just Food

While the final score in this game was separated by just 2 runs, Da Bears really remained in the game by really bad defense. Six defenseive miscues led to several unearned runs. Sean Valenza did homer in the 3rd, a solo shot and Matt Kohn finished with 3 hits.

Big game from Mike Canbar who kept his team afloat offensively as they almost gave it away as stated above. His 3-run bomb in the 6th put Just Food ‘just ahead’ and allowed them to ‘just’ pull this game out 12-10.

Game 3: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Pitches be Crazy

Well, once again I would like to credit the winner of this game for a beautiful offensive dislay, but PBC plated 19 men and again…many unearned. Mike’s defense also stayed home last Tuesday. A whopping TEN ERRORS were committed by Mikes. The stats sheet looks crazy, but there really isn’t a stat line to see and point out. We’ll go with Brian Hughes coming a home run short of a cycle. A nice 3-4 night.

Mike must have had their heads down because of their defense, they attempted to mustar up some runs and sprinkled home a few here and there. Dave Shannon came to play with a 4-4 night which included 3 doubles and 2 rbi. Eddie Haddle also had 3 hits and scored twice. Mike’s lose 19-9.

Game 4: Cale’s Pale Ales v. Team Horsham

Team Horsham had just Jarret Pendergast really show up with 4 hits in 4 Abs. He also scored 3 times. Horsham plated just 6 runs while giving up much more.

Cale’s started out slow scoring 2 times through the 3rd, but a steady hitting barrage from the entire line up led to a 7 run 4th. Brennan Rudnick tripled home a pair of runs in the 7th to really open the game up after another big inning, this time an 8-run 7th. Cale’s took the game easily 16-6.
