Game 1: Irish Car Bombs vs Throwdown
ICB jumps out to a 2 run lead after a double by Jason Pane and a homer by Matt Hatch. Throwdown gets 5 of their own by way of the base hit in the bottom of the 1st. ICB erupts for 7 in the 2nd with the help of a couple of doubles by Dana Myers and Anthony Crawford. Throwdown cut the deficit to 1 run after plating 3 across the 2nd and 3rd inning. ICB gets back to scoring, bringing 9 across in the 4th. Extra base hits by Chris Hackney, John Erb and Neal Hebert were responsible for most of the damage. Throwdown keeps it close by bringing home 7 of their own in the bottom of the frame with the help of some errors and timely hitting. ICB would then take control of the game by spraying in 6 runs over the last two innings and shutting down the opposition to take the game 24-15.
Game 2: Irish Car Bombs vs Philly Junk
ICB keeps their offense rolling by getting 2 runs early after Chris Hackney lead off with a triple. Philly Junk brings in 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st after back to back doubles by Justin Miller and Mike Bitterlich. ICB hammers home 6 runs in the second with the help of a quadinger by Anthony Crawford! Junk stays close after working some counts and getting 4 walks in the frame which leads to a 3-run 2nd inning. After ICB plates another in the 3rd, Mike Bitterlich smokes a laser into the woods for a solo shot and Shane Hanna follows that up by hitting a double and scoring soon after. Jason Pane scores in the 4th for ICB and scores to give 10-8 lead. After holding Junk off the board ICB was back at it 4 with the help of a 2-run double by Neal Hebert and then a 2-run bomb by John Kiefer. Philly Junk does their best to hang in after extra base hits by Craig Richards, Nick Mancini and Shane Hanna lead the way to a 3-run 5th. ICB heads into the 5th up 3 and adds much needed insurance by scoring 5 more runs. Damage was done in large part by a Jamie B. double and John E. triple. Philly Junk would grab 2 back in the 6th after a Chris Johnson dinger but they needed more and would fall to ICB, 19-15.
Game 3: Wackers vs Chicos
Wackers plated 2 in the top of the first but then Chicos responded with a 5-run inning. It included a Kevin Shinkunas solo shot and a RBI triple by Bill Shipe. Scoring wouldn't pick back up until the 4th when Wackers brought in 6 runs with the help of a 2-run double by Justin Glennon and a 2-run banger by Ed Sheehan. Chicos got 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. Unfortunately, that is where the scoring would end for Chicos. Wackers would bring home a few more runs to pad the lead which included another dinger by Ed Sheehan. They take this one 13-5.
Game 4: TGIF vs Titans
What a humdinger this was. TGIF falls just short of the natural team cycle as they lead off the game with an Adam Lightkep single, a Rob McKenna double and a Mike Koz triple. I can only assume Warran Grant tried his hardest to get the ball over the fence on his sacrifice fly but it still helped them plate 3 runs. The Titans would score 3 of their own including a double by Kyle Rizzi. TGIF was back at it in the 2nd bringing home 7 runs. Rob McKenna doing most of the damage with his grand salami. Titans weather the early storm by scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the frame. Extra base hits by Mike Dura and Jason Brown were key. After both teams went silent in the 3rd TGIF's Dave Ward banged a triple and scored in the 4th. The Titans fight back and take a 1 run lead after a 4 run 4th. Jason Brown continuing to hammer the ball and getting a 2 run tater. Both teams go scoreless in the 5th. TGIF adds 1 in the 6th but Titans add 2 to take a 14-12 lead heading into the 7th. TGIF then explodes to the tune of 7 runs after 5 straight doubles! The top of the order (Adam, Rob, Mike, Warren and Dave) gets it done in clutch time. Titans would try to claw back but a Jason Brown solo shot and a 2-run inning weren't enough. TGIF wins 19-16.
