Week 5 at the Quarry

Post by MikeY »

Game 1: The Commission at Benny The Bums
BB starts off the scoring with a double, a triple and an RBI single for a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. Commission answers back in the top of the 2nd, plating 6 runs on four straight doubles, two walks and two singles. They'd add 3 more in the 3rd on a double, an error, a sac fly and a single to take a 9- lead. BB gets back into it in the bottom of the 4th when they score 5 runs on five singles and two doubles to cut the deficit to 10-9. The Commission pulls away in the top of the 5th, scoring 4 runs, holding BB in the bottom half and scoring 4 more in the top of the 5th and 5 more in the top of the 7th. Chris Hackney would hit doubles in each of those innings and knock in 5 of the runs and score each time. BB, down 18-10 in the bottom of the 7th, starts a come back. After a fly out, they get their next seven men on base while knocking 5 of them in but the bottom two batter would pop out to end the game 18-15 for the Commission.

Player of the game: Chris Hackney (Commission) - 4/6 (4 2B) 3 R, 6 RBI

Game 2: Vertex Pest Management at Garges Gang
Vertex goes down quietly in the top of the 1st and GG opens the scoring in the bottom half by plating 7 runs on a lead off walk, six straight hits, another walk and two RBI ground outs. Vertex shows up in the bottom of the 3rd to take the lead by scoring 8 runs on a triple, a sac fly, two singles, an error, another sac fly and three more hits to take an 8-7 lead. GG takes the lead back in the bottom half on a lead off walk, a single, an RBI ground out, an RBI triple and an RBI single to take a 10-8 lead. But they seem to disappear after that. Vertex goes on to score 2 in the top of the 4th to tie the game and then 5 in the 5th, 7 in the 6th and 5 more in the 7th to take this one 27-12.

Player of the game: Sean Nonemacher (Vertex) - 4/6 (4 1B, 2 ROE) 5 R, 1 RBI

Game 3: Mayhem at DaVanzo Shift
Mayhem starts strong in the bottom of the 1st and never look back. They take a quick 3-0 lead via a lead off triple, a single to knock him in, a ground out, a double and a 2-RBI single. DaVanzo gets on the board in the top of the 2nd via two singles and a sac fly. But Mayhem would add 4 more in the bottom half on four extra base hits and a sac fly to take a 7-1 lead. DaVanzo plates 4 in the top of the 3rd on singles and walks and a sac fly to cut their deficit to 7-5 but would do nothing else on the evening. Mayhem would go on to add 6 in the bottom of the 3rd, 7 in the 4th and 6 in the 5th to take this one via the run rule 26-5.

Player of the game: Tom Ivers (Mayhem) - 4/6 (2 1B, 2B, 3B) 5 R, 2 RBI

Game 4: Hunsy's Chickens at Outback Steak House
Outback jumps out to a huge 10-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st on a lead off HR by Ryan Maley followed by the next six batters reaching base, then an RBI ground out, two RBI singles, an error, a triple and two ore singles. They'd add 6 more in the 2nd on singles, a walk and another error. Hunsy's gets on the board in the top of the 3rd via a triple and RBI single and add 2 in the top of the 5th on a single, a double, an RBI single and an RBI ground out. Outback gets their first two men on base in the bottom of the 5th and they both come around to score and they take this one via run rule 18-3.

Player of the game: Ryan Maley (Outback) 3/4 (1B, 3B, HR) 3 R, 2 RBI
