Week 2 at the Quarry

Game 1: Garges Gang (0-0) at Brew Crew (0-0)
Garges Gang gets a man on in the top of the 1st but can’t bring him in. Brew Crew would get their first three men on and bring all 3 of them in on a sac fly and a 2-run single to take a 3-0 lead. Garges Gang would go scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd while Brew Crew would plate 3 more in the 2nd on an RBI double and a 2-run HR by Angelo Vitantinio and then 3 more in the 3rd on three RBI singles to go up 9-0.Garges Gang would finally show up in the 4th, scoring 6 runs on two errors, six hits and two walks. Brew Crew would 1 back in the bottom half on a double and fielder’s choice but then Brew Crew would plate 2 in the top of the 5th to cut their deficit to 2 runs. Brew Crew would put this one away in the bottom of the 5th by scoring 7 runs on eight hits and a walk. Both teams go scoreless in the 6th and 7th and this one ends 17-8 in favor of Brew Crew.

Game 2: Yum Yum Bake Shop (0-0) at DaVanzo Shift (0-0)
Yum Yum gets a quick 2 runs on a leadoff triple and two singles and then DaVanzo gets 1 back in the bottom half on an error and two singles. Yum Yum plates 5 more in the top of the 2nd on three doubles and three singles. DaVanzo gets 1 back in the bottom half again and then would hold Yum Yum in the top of the 3rd. DaVanzo comes alive in the bottom half and would take the lead, scoring 6 runs on a leadoff walk, a double, six singles and a sac fly. Both teams go scoreless in the 4th and both teams get 1 run in the 5th. Yum Yum is held scoreless in the top of the 6th while DaVanzo would tack on 2 more runs to their lead in the bottom half. Yum Yum makes 2 quick outs in the top of the 7th but then gets a single, an error, a 2 RBI single by Nate Ross and then he’d get knocked in by two more singles to tie the game. DaVanzo’s leadoff man would get on via an error in the bottom of the 7th then the next batter walks, followed by two singles and DaVanzo gets the walk-off win 12-11.

Player of the game: Tim Finn (DaVanzo): 3/4 (2 1B, 3B) 2 R, 3 RBI

Game 3: Sex Panthers (0-0) at Mermen (0-0)
The Panthers start quick, getting their first 6 men on base via singles and errors and plating them all. Mermen get 1 back in the bottom half and then hold the Panthers in the 2nd and 3rd while getting 2 more back to make the score 6-3 after 4 innings. The Panthers tack on 3 more in the top of the 5th on two doubles, a single and an error but Mermen would tie the game in the bottom half via a leadoff error, five singles, a double and a triple. Both teams score 3 in the 6th and the Panthers are held scoreless in the top of the 7th. Mermen get a man on in the bottom half, a walk moves him to 2nd, a fielder’s choice moves him to 3rd with 2 outs but a fielding error on the next batter allows him to score and Mermen take this one 13-12.
