Post by shaners30 »

Game 1

Max Challenge v the team formerly known as Vertex, King’s Corner

King’s Corner has their typical 9 man lineup for this 6:30 game but they decided to change
things up, they would not get out… like at all. The 9 man hit squad put together an 18 run first
inning with extra base hits from Matt Schaub (2 doubles) Dave Ulmer (2 doubles) John Sandy
and Dan Cryerman doubling, as well as triples from Keither Crowell and Chris Abato. They
would follow that up with an 8 run 2nd inning highlighted by back to back homeruns from Chris
Beatty and Schaub, and as a dinger by Keith Crowell. Another outburst came in the 3rd inning
as the boys in blue and yellow highlighter capped their evening with 7 runs in the inning by way
of another homer from Schaub, a triple from Cryerman, and doubles from CJ Snyder (with his
bad wheel) and Chris Abato.
Max Challenge down big early was never really ever able to challenge in this one, they would
plate a run in the first on singles, 7 runs in the 2nd by way of a double from Justin Kneebone
and a triple from Nate Rossoure, and 3 runs over the final two frames from doubles by super
sub Roger Ayala, and Dave Carson who finished 3 for 3 on the evening.

KC 37 - Max Challenge 10

Game 2

Hooligans V Commission

In a battle of the best two home run hitting teams in SBA, a bunch of homeruns were hit. Hooli’s
started their day off with 4 runs in the first via homers from Mike Bitterlich and Tom Koelzer.
Commish answered with a solo shot from Evan Porter in the bottom half of the inning. Hooligans
once again used the long ball as Brandon Birkhead smashed a grand slam to cap a 6 run 2nd.
A Jeremy Villano solo bomb would highlight a 3 run answer in the bottom of the inning.
Hooligans would have a rare inning where they scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd without a
homerun, highlighted by a Bitterlich double. Edwin Padua and Evan Porter would go deep in the
bottom of the 3rd to cut into the deficit once again. Matching homers, Hooligans would plate two
in the fourth on back to back jacks from Koelzer and Goodman. Scoring the rest of the way
would go the way of Commission as homers from Padua and Roche helped plate 4 in the 5th, a
homer from big Teddy Peck would help plate 4 in the 6th, and singles/ walks would help
Commish walk this one off in the bottom of the 7th.
Final Score: Commission 17 - Hooligans 16

Game 3

Outback v Commission

Outback hammered the ball early as they plate four in the first on doubles from Ryan Maley and
Sean Carew. They would score another in the 2nd on singles and plate 2 in the 3rd on a double
from Scott Runzer. After a quiet middle of the game, they would push 3 runs across in the 7th
inning to cut the deficit on singles.
Commission hammered home 7 in the first inning by way of back to back to back homers from
Padua, Roche and Porter. Back to back doubles from Rob Lyons and Padua would plate
another 2 runs in the 2nd. Once again going back to back Padua and Roche used the long ball,
to propel Commish to another 5 run outburst in the 4th. A rare inning of only singles would plate
3 more in the 5th. With the homerun hat trick, Roche hammered another homer in the 6th inning
helping to score another 5 runs and cap the evening off for Commission.

Commission 21 - Outback 9

Game 4

Horsham v Outback

Horsham used 4 singles to plate 2 in the first. They would explode again with 4 runs, helped by
a homer from Dan Lineberger. Errors and singles helped plate another run for the boys in red in
the 6th inning, and a triple from Eric Lane combined with a TON of singles would highlight a
monster 7 run outburst in the 7th.
Outback would get a run via a Scott Runzer in the first inning but go berzerk in the 2nd scoring
10 runs on doubles from Bannister and Russell, combined with triples from Chris Hunter and
Matt Homka. A triple from Ryan Maley combined with a double from Ryan Calabro highlighted a
big 6th inning which saw the Bloomin’ Onions score 5 and Maley once again would lead the way
in the 7th inning plating 3 with another double.

Outback 19 - Horsham 14
