Week 6 at the Quarry

Post by MikeY »

Game 1: Mayhem (4-0) at Irish Car Bombs (3-1)
Mayhem takes a quick 3-0 lead on two singles, an error and a 2 RBI double. ICB retaliates in the bottom half by scoring 14 runs on 13 hits, a walk, an error and two fielder’s choices. They’d get home runs by Anthony Crawford, Jared Gardner, Zach Martin and Ryan Goodman. Mayhem would get 1 back in both the 3rd and 5th innings while holding ICB scoreless until the 6th. In the bottom of the 6th, ICB goes triple-sac fly-triple-sac fly-HR to plate 3 more and take a 17-5 lead. Then in the top of the 7th, Mayhem goes single-HR-single-HR to plate 4 more runs but that’s all they’d manage and ICB takes this one 17-9.

Player of the game: Ryan Goodman (ICB): 4/4 (Hit for the cycle), 3 R, 3 RBI

Game 2: Brew Crew (2-2) at Outback Steakhouse (0-3-1)
Both teams start fast…Brew Crew gets 5 in the top of the 1st on 5 singles, a double and a sac fly. Outback comes back with 8 in the bottom half on two walks, four singles, a triple, an error and a 3 run HR by Greg Moylan. Brew Crew takes the lead by scoring 4 in the top of the 2nd on two singles, a sac fly, a triple and a double and then Outback would tie in the bottom half. Ryan Calabro would get on base via magic, I guess (what happened is not written down) and then Schi Berk knocks him in to tie the score at 9. Brew Crew retakes the lead in the top of the 3rd on 3 singles and then Outback goes back up in the bottom of the 4th on a walk, a double and a single and then scores 2 more in the 5th on three walks, a single and a sac fly. Brew Crew ties it in the top of the 6th on a triple, two singles and a 2 run HR by Gene Walczak to tie the game at 13. Outback would come up and get 12 in the bottom half on two walks and 11 hits including HRs by Ryan Henritzy and Ryan Calabro. They’d hold Brew Crew to only 3 in the top of the 7th and take this one 25-16.

Player of the game: Ryan Henritzy (Outback) 4/5 (Hit for the cycle), 4 R, 4 RBI

Game 3: Callahan Auto (2-0) at The Commission (3-1)
This one would be over quickly. Callahan gets 1 in the top of the 1st on a walk, a groundout and two singles and that’s all they’d do all night. The Commission would plate 1 in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd, 8 in the 3rd on seven hits and two errors, 1 in the 4th and 6 in the 6th to take this one 17-1.

Player of the game: Kevin Roche (Commission): 4/4 (1B, 2B, 2 HR) 3 R, 5 RBI

Game 4: Jamison Pour House (1-2-1) at Vertex Pest Management (2-2)
JPH was not messing around in the game. They’d bat around in 4 of the 5 innings in this game. They plate 8 in the top of the 1st on two walks, three singles, a double, a triple, a sac fly, two errors and a groundout. They’d plate 7 more in the 2nd on a single, three doubles, a triple, two walks and an error. Vertex would only score two runs over the first two innings and then hold JPH to only 2 runs in the top of the 3rd. They’d get 4 in the bottom of the 3rd on 5 hits including a 2 run HR by Matt Schaub. JPH would drop another 13 runs in the 4th & 5th innings and would take this one 30-13.

Player of the game: Eric Beatty (JPH): 4/5 (4 3B), BB, 3 R, 3 RBI
