Game #1 – Roos vs. Andy’s

Roos get going in the first inning in this one thanks to a three run bomb off the bat of Anthony Crawford to give them the early 4-0 lead. Andy’s match that in the bottom of the first. Mike Koz started it with an RBI single, followed up by a Jason Ashworth two run double. Warren Grant added an RBI single later in the inning. Tom Montvydas got the lead back for Roos in the second with a two run single. Andy’s have their big inning in the third grabbing five runs and take the 9-7 lead. Koz started it with an RBI single and then Ashworth and Chase Luxton went back to back for dingers. Both teams grab a couple runs over the next couple of innings, but Andy’s break open again for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to nail this game down late. Brittany Ullman had the big hit, with a two run double. Roos win 13-11.

Game #2 – Sons of Pitches vs. Carroll’s

The second game gets off to a fast start with back to back hits from Jon Motts and Carl Motts to give pitches the 2-0 lead right out of the gate. Carroll’s respond and get four runs of their own on one swing, a Bill Shipe Grand slam to give them the lead. Motts is at it again with an RBI double to tie it and a batter later, Pitches take the lead on a Tyler Motts sac fly. Carl Motts keeps the pitches lead at one in the fifth after he sends a ball outta the park for a solo home run. Carroll’s continue to hang around in this one and get one run in the fifth from a Kevin Shinkunas sac fly and two in the sixth from RBI hits from John Zeits and Krysten Marinelli. Pitches trail by one as we head to the final inning. Carl Motts gives Pitches the lead with a two run single. Carroll’s are able to string a couple hits and get runners on second and third, but that is where they would be stranded. Pitches win 8-7.

Game #3 – LA Pools vs. Wackers

Pools get going early in this one getting RBI singles from Greg Lavin and Tom Finn. Pools break their lead open to eight in the top of the second scoring eight runs. Glen Hipple started it by clearing the bases with a three run single. A couple batters later Mike Cianfichi smashed a two run double for two more runs. Joan Glass also had an RBI single in the inning. Wackers respond in the bottom of the inning with five runs of their own. Mike Kelly went to work with a three run bomb and Mark Meredith also added an RBI from an RBI single. Pools continue to swing the bat well into the fourth inning getting another five runs. Glass smacked and single in the fourth, this time knocking in two runs. Cianfichi also had an RBI triple in the inning. Wackers respond big in the bottom of the inning getting five runs of their own. Lissa Tercha and Rob Shuck had RBI triples and Justin Glennan and Mark Meredith had RBI singles. We head to the final inning with Wackers trailing by two. Lissa Tercha scores one on a sac fly, but that is as close as they would get as they fall in this one. Pools win 15-14.

Game #4 – Dug out Demons

The final game of the night starts off with a Cody Runner RBI double and Ron Bannister two run single. Demons add another run off a Runner RBI single to put Demons up four, but that is quickly counted by one run from Pools in the bottom of the inning. Demons explode in the fourth to the tune of eight runs. Sean Przychowicz had a two run double and Phil Black had a two run single to help put up Demons. Pools grab another three runs back in the bottom of the inning with RBI singles from Krissy B and Glass as well as a Larry W sac fly. Demons put the game away late with three more runs in the seventh, with RBI hits from Katie O’Toole and Lauren Wood. Demons win 17-7.
