Championships at Hatfield


Game #1 – Roos vs. LA Pools

Roos get rolling early grabbing five runs out of the gate. Jeremy Villano got the scoring started with a sac fly and that is followed up with RBI doubles from Anthony Crawford and Doug Farrar. Jess Behr and Selina Alicea also had an RBI single in the inning. Pools come right back in the bottom of the inning. Glen Hipple started it with an RBI single and then immediately followed by a Greg Lavin RBI double. Mike Cianfichi finished off the scoring in the inning with a two run single to bring them to within one run. Back come the Roos in the second, this time grabbing six runs to take an 11-4 lead. Home Runs were the key in the inning getting a three run bomb from Anthony Crawford and a two run bomb from Doug Farrar. Pools come down after the first and struggle to get any runs across. Roos really crush this one late pushing across another seven runs and win this one easy. Villano smacked another moonshot home run for Roos as they use the home runs to put this one away.

Game #2 – LA Pools vs. Roos

After a rough Game 1, Pools look to get back into the Championship series with a big game 2. Pools come out and grab two runs off two RBI singles from Greg Lavin and Tom Finn. Roos double that in the bottom of the inning after getting a two run home run into the hatfield woods, a common theme on the night tonight for Roos. Pools open up a lead in the third after pushing ten runs across. Glen Hipple and Mike Cianfichi started the scoring with RBI singles and a couple of batters later, Mike Cianfichi smacked in a two run double to make this a 7-4 game. Roos get two back in the bottom of the inning from a Crawford bomb as the Pools lead now just sits at one. Pools tack on fuve more in the next couple innings a hold a 12-7 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. Roos need six runs and this championship will be theirs. They start in the right direction getting a run on a sac fly. After loading the bases, Jess Behr clears them with a bases clearing triple. In the end, Pools hold off Roos and hold on to this one. Pools win 12-11.

Game #3 – Roos vs. LA Pools

Roos get off to a hot start in this one, as they try to shake off the previous game and take the series. Roos grab five runs in the first off RBI singles from Villano, Crawford, Farrar, Elmore and Behr. A Blum solo shot and Elmore two run double help to push the lead up to 8-0 as Pools cool off in this one early. Roos continue the scoring frenzy as they push across another six runs in the third. Blum was back at it again, with a three run bomb. Farrar also added an RBI double in the inning as well as a RBI single from Elmore. Villano looks to put this away with another home run, this time a two run bomb as six more runs come from Roos in the fourth. In the end, there is just too much from the Roos as they will win this one and lock up the championship. Roos win 21-5.
