Game #1 – Rock N Rebel vs. LA Pools

John Rodriguez starts the season off for Rebel with a two run double and is followed up later in the inning with back to back RBI singles from Ed Reynolds and Ray Barry. This gives them the early 4-0 lead. Both teams grab a run in the second inning. Bobby Citrino gives Rebel a 6-1 lead he hits a solo home run in the third. Rebel really opens this game open in the fifth inning as they push six runs across. Bob Baginski, Citrino, Ed Reynolds and Ray Berry all have RBI singles in the inning. Rebel scores five more runs in the seventh as they win this one easily. Mark McCouch Sr. added two runs on a two run double. Rebel wins 18-3.

Game #2 – LA Pools vs. Bry-Lex

Defense was the key early in the game as both teams don’t score anything in the first inning. Pools then get on the board first with two runs on a RBI single from Darcy Rabenda and fielder’s choice from Glen Hipple. Bry-Lex answers with two runs of their own from a Riley Sheehy two run single. Both teams really open up in the fifth as Pools put up five runs and Bry-Lex put up seven runs. Rabenda had an RBI double and Kryssy Bartynski had a two run single for Pools. For Bry-Lex, Sheehy hit an RBI triple and Shawn Pfleger went back to back on moonshot home runs into the woods at Hatfield. Pools have another big inning in the sixth as they again push five runs across. RBI singles paced the inning for Pools. Pools add three more insurance runs in the seventh and that ends up being too much for Bry-Lex. Pools win 15-10.

Game #3 – The Maize vs. Bry-Lex

Bry-Lex come out swinging in their second game of the night just after falling short in their first game. Matt Margois and Rich Jacalone had RBI singles in the inning as well as a two-run single from Matt Mccalister giving them a 4-0 lead early. They get seven more in the third after a couple RBI singles and a bases clearing triple from Colin Donohoe. Maize grab a couple of runs back, but they still trail 12-2 after four innings of play. Nick Diapolo smacks an RBI single, which pushes Bry-Lex up to 14-2, and that ends up being enough as Maize cannot find any offense on opening night. Bry-Lex wins 14-3.
