Playoffs at Hatfield

Game #1 – Chapman vs. Rock and Rebel

Chapman deals a tough blow and doesn’t have enough in this one as Rock and Rebel will win this one on a forfeit and move onto the next round.

Player of the Game:
Rock and Rebel for having a full squad in this one.

Game #2 – Wehrung’s vs. Carroll’s

Wehrungs get the playoffs started with a two run double off of the bat of Lowell Snyder as they take the lead early. Wehrungs get going again with a three run bomb off the bat of Davey Nagel which increases their lead to 5-0. Carroll’s get on the board in the bottom of the second with an RBI single from Steve DiGiovanni as this remains a 5-2 game. Nagel was at it again in the fourth inning, this time smashing a two run bomb, his second homer of the game. Wehrungs increase their lead to 10-2 after a bases clearing double from Nagel, who is completely taking over the game and being relied on from Wehrungs. Carroll’s finally wake up grabbing two runs on a Bill Shipe two run bomb in the sixth and five more runs in the seventh. Bryant Bart and Bob McClintock each have a two run hit in the inning. There efforts send this game to an extra inning. Wehrungs get first crack in extras and get a run on an Erik Senderling RBI single. Carroll’s now step to the plate with all the pressure on them. They go down in order and will fall in this one ending their playoff hopes this summer. Wehrung’s win 11-10.

Player of the Game:
Davey Nagel (Wehrung’s) – 3/4, 2B, 2 HR’s, 8 RBI’s

Game #3 – Rock and Rebel vs. Wackers

Rebel comes out grabbing a two runs on a two run single from Erik Stalford as they look to get going early. Wackers come out and answer immediately and in a big way. Wackers bat around and score a huge 12 runs right out of the gate. Matt Bookheimer starts this with an RBI triple followed by RBI singles from Alex Freeman, Rich Stead, Nick Piggott, Alex Amador and Lissa Tercha. Bookheimer and Kevin McLaughlin also added two runs singles in the inning as well. Wackers go silent for a couple of innings which allows Rebel to get back into this one. Stalford and Ed Reynolds get the scoring going for them with back to back RBI singles and an inning later, Stalford gets going again, this time with a three run bomb. We start the fourth inning deadlocked at 12 runs apiece. Wackers get a two run double from McHale to take the lead again. The next inning Wackers get going again as they look to run away with this one. Amador gets into the action with a bases clearing double for Wackers, but Stalford had struck again for Rebel with a three run bomb. After five innings, Wackers hold a 21-17 lead as we head to the late stages of this game. Rebel are able to find three runs across the sixth and seventh inning, but it ends up not being enough as Wacker add two more runs as well. Wackers win 23-20.

Matt Bookheimer (Wackers) – 4/5, 2 2B’s, 3B, 3 RBI’s
