Week 4 at the Quarry

Game #1 –Sharks vs. Dugout Demons

Demons get the win in this one as Shark’s forfeit this one.


Game #2 – Demons vs. Andy’s

Demons kick this one off early with an Alex Elmore bases clearing triple. Joe Tillman scores him an inning later with a sac fly to give them the early 4-0 lead. Andy’s get one back from a Chase Luxton RBI single. Shanna Gardner immediately gets that back for Demons with a RBI single before Chris Hesdon smacks a two run single for Andy’s. Both teams played solid defense in the third as no runners cross the plate. Demons break the game open in the top of the fourth grabbing a 10-3 lead thanks to a three run bomb from Jarred Gardner and two run homer from Bryan Peterman. Andy’s fight back in the fifth with a big four run inning. Kris Smedley starts it with a RBI single followed by an Adam Lightkep sac fly and Ron Pulli RBI double. Andy’s pull to within two runs. Demons breakaway again with a three run home run from Steve Berry. This time it would be enough to put Andy’s away. Demons win 14-9.

Jarred Gardner (Demons) – 3/3, BB, HR, 3 RBI’s


Game#3 – Pools vs. Bry Lex

Pools jump out early in this one with four runs in the top of the first. Ray Patano smacked an RBI single, Mike Cianfichi hit a RBI double and Krissy Bartynski knocked in two with a two run single. They get six more runs in the second with RBI singles from Darcy Rabenda and Patano as well as a two run single from Larry Wagner. Shawn Pfleger and Steph Hines get a couple runs back for Bry Lex in the third as they try to hang around trailing 11-3 after three innings. Patano stays hot and smashes another RBI single in the fourth pushing their lead to nine. Bry Lex bat’s start to come alive in the fifth getting a two run double from Steph Hines and RBI single from Bryce Bundy. Bry Lex gets one more run in the bottom of the seventh, but it would not be enough to come back in this one. Pools win 19-7.

Game #4 –Carrolls vs. Wackers

The last game of the night starts off with a bang. Carrolls explode for seven runs right out of the gate. John Zeits started the scoring with a two run double followed by a RBI triple from Krysten Marinelli and tow run bomb from Bill Shipe. Carrolls get six more runs in the second with a two run double from Kevin Shinkunas and two run triple from Bryan Bart. Mike Zhardinack also added a sac fly in the inning. It is all Carrolls early as they hold a 14-1 lead after three innings. The fourth brings more the same from Carrolls as this time they bat around for 12 runs and make this a 26-1 game. Shinkunas stayed hot with a bases clearing double as well as Kelly Gallagher with a two run double. Zhardinack, Marinelli, McClintock, Tomilson and DiGiavoni added RBI’s in the inning as well. Wackers battle for seven runs in the bottom of the inning to try and get back into the game. Veronica Geyer and Dave Santerian had RBI singles and Nick Hosgood and John Hosgood had two run hits. The game would last one more inning, but eventually end early due to mercy rule. Carrolls win 26-8.
