Game #1 –Roos vs. Blue Dog Tavern

Roos start off strong in the opening game with RBI singles from Gary Ehly, Doug Farrar and Angie Wehlau to jump out to a 4-0 lead. They extend that lead to ten runs in the second inning. Dan Wehlau started it with a RBI double, Ehly had another single, this time knocking in two and Farrar and Ed Landau had RBI singles. Blue Dog fights back in the bottom of the inning getting six of those runs back. Roos struggled to throw strikes in the inning and Donna Finlayson, Janice Tansits and Bob Kolecki had RBI walks. Dave McDonald added a two run double. Roos continue to stay hot at the plate, this time pushing five runs across. Dan Cymerman and Connie Stefankiewcz had RBI doubles and Eillien Fillion knocked in on with a sac fly. Again, Blue Tavern fights back getting a RBI triple from John Rodriguez and RBI double from Jeff Douglas. Bill Roth adds a three run homer later in the game for Blue Dog, but it would not be enough offense today as Roos continue to drive runs in on RBI singles. Roos win 21-13.

Game #2 – Dugout Demons vs. Carrolls

Demons get rolling early with a two run bomb in the woods right out of the gate from Jarred Gardner. Alex Elmore adds an RBI single a couple of batters later to give them a 3-0 lead. Carrols come back to take the lead in the bottom of the inning with help from a Bill Shipe two run triple. Steve Berry ties the game back up quickly for Demons with a sac fly before Gardner smashes another bomb into the wood, this time a three run home run. RBI singles from Jenn Sevitski, Steph Hensman, Bryan Peterman and Laureen Wood increase their lead to 13-4. Defense shuts down the next couple of innings as neither team get anything big going. That changes in the sixth when Demons explode for eight runs. Peterman and Gardner have two run singles to help drive their lead to 22-8. Carrolls wouldn’t be able to get anything else going on the night and would fall in this one.

Game#3 – Andy’s vs. Sharks

Andy’s get rolling right off the bat with a Ron Pulli RBI single, Mike Koz RBI triple, RJ Grant RBI double, Warren Grant RBI single and Jay Pane RBI single. Sharks respond with two runs with a Steve Reichling bases loaded walk and Tom Finn sac fly. Neither teams scores in the second inning. Andy’s add one in the third on a RJ sac fly while Sharks push none across keeping this game at 6-2. Both teams struggle to push any runs across until the fifth, when Andy’s come up to smack in three runs. W. Grant started it with a two run single and a couple batters later, Jay Pane smack in one with a sac fly. Andy’s do the same in the sixth with an Adam Lightkep RBI double and Ron Pulli RBI triple. Sharks can only manage one in the sixth trailing by 10 runs. Andy’s put them away in the seventh with four more runs, helped by a two run triple by Pane. Andy’s win 17-3.

Game #4 –New Age vs. The Maize

Bick Chiquerin gives Maize and early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a RBI single. New Age quickly respond in the top of the first with a sac fly from Christine Courchain to tie the game. Maize bats around in the bottom of the second. Tom Egitto starts it with a RBI single followed by a Ryan Garges two run double and then a Gary Kleinschmidt RBI double. Chiquerin adds another RBI single later in the inning. Again, New Age comes back, this time with three runs on an Alex Peterson RBI single, Jim Kennedy RBI double and Mike Friedman RBI single. Peterson stays hot and smashes a solo home run in the fifth. Friedman also added an RBI double in the inning to pull them to within two. Maize tack on a couple more runs in the later innings as New Age goes scoreless and they are able to hold on in this one. Mazie wins 12-7.
