Game #1 – Dugout Demons vs. Andy’s

Demons get on the board first in Game 1 when Nick Mancini smacks a fly and Alex Elmore smacks an RBI single. Andy’s respond immediately with a sac fly from Mike KOz and a RBI single from RJ Grant. Paul Grant puts Andy’s on top in the second with a RBI single of his own. Neither team scores in the third as defense is really showing up in this one. A Ron Pulli sac fly doubles the lead for Andy’s in the fourth as they remain on top 4-2. Demons finally catch up and tie the game in the sixth inning. Jarred Gardner smacked a big two run single to tie the game up heading to the last inning. Demons can’t push any across in the top of the inning leaving it up to Andy’s in the bottom of the inning. Andy’s get their first two runners on with a Jay Pane and Pulli single and a couple batters later Jay Cybok takes a walk to load the bases. Danielle Buzin comes through in the clutch delivering a walk off RBI single to give Andy’s a 1-0 lead in the series.

Game #2 – Andy’s vs. Dugout Demons

Andy’s come out fast in this one and put up seven runs in the first two innings. Koz starts the scoring with an RBI double and Warren Grant hits a RBI single. Chase Luxton added a big bases clearing double in the second as well as a Buzin RBI single. Demons also came out swinging in this one as they put up nine runs across the first couple innings. Gardner started them with a RBI triple followed by a two run home run from John Erb. A couple of batters later Alex Elmore hits a RBI triple. In the second, Steve Berry knocks one in on a RBI single followed by a three run bomb. Demons lead by two after two big innings from each. Neither team scores in the third inning. Demons add four more runs in the bottom of the fourth with another three run bomb from Gardner pushing their lead out to 13-7. Andy’s continue to fight back and get seven runs across the fifth and sixth inning. Paul Grant, Adam Lightkep, Luxton, Pane and Brittany Ullman had RBI’s in the inning. Demons, still holding a small lead put this game away later in the game with a big five run sixth. Gardner, Poore, Mancini, Elmore and Tillman all had RBI singles in the inning. Demons put this one away and take game 2.

Game #3 – Dugout Demons vs. Andy’s

Our third and decisive game starts with a two run bomb from Jon Poore to give them the early 2-0 lead. Andy’s respond immediately with five runs of their own starting with a two run single from W. Grant, RBI double from Pane and two run single from Pulli. Defense shuts down both teams and neither team score any runs until the top of the fifth when Demons add one. Steph Thrasher smacks an RBI single to bring them to within two runs. After shutting Andy’s down in the bottom of the inning, Demons come to bat and take a lead in the top of the sixth with four runs across. ERb started the scoring with an RBI double and Poore added a two run single a batter later. Mancini capped the scoring with a RBI double as we head to the bottom of the seventh with the game on the line. Pane gets Andy’s to within one run on a RBI single and a couple of batters later Jay Cybok hits a sac fly to tie the game up and send us to extra innings. In extra’s Berry gets Demons up first with an RBI triple followed by RBI’s from Gardner and Poore which gives them a three run lead, again heading to the bottom of the inning with the game on the line. After getting two big outs, Andy’s put the pressure aside and get a RBI single from Luxton leading to a Koz two run double to tie the game again. RJ Grant steps to the plate and wins it in walk off fashion with a RBI single giving Andy’s the summer Championship.
