Game 1: Cale’s Pale Ales v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

Cale’s crew had to play the night’s first game short-handed and they fought well. TJ Ohntrup kept these boys close by driving in 4 and scoring 3 times. His bases-clearing triple in the 7th helped give them the lead late.

Mike’s did just a tad better. Tony Stuart drove in 4 and scored 2 times with his 6th inning -run double proving to the difference. Kyle Saba and Andy Markoqicz both had 2-run doubles as well. Mike’s edged out Cale’s 13-11.

Game Two: Beers v. Team Horsham

Horsham’s Adam Lightkep singled home 2 runs in the first inning capping a 3-run effort in the frame. In the 7th…after not generating much offense since the 2nd, Austin Anderson smashed a solo shot which started a 4-run inning. The inning was highlighted by Eric Lane’s double and Mike Spagits triple. Horsham plated 8 for the game.

For Beers, Ryan Whiteley scored twice, Ryan Calabro scored twice and tripled home two in the 6th, and Josh Goldberg had a 3-3 day with 2 runs scored. Team plated 11 and squeaked by Horsham by 3.

Game Three: Da Bears v. Beers

Not much going on for the Da Bears. Adam Ceneviva singled home 1 in the 2nd, Sean Valenza, Tom Robinson and Ricky Shultz scored in the 5th and Tom then singled home one more in the 5th. Five runs is all this offense would muster up.

Beers on the other hand, well….not much better. Ryan M scored in the 1st, a slew of errors led to 3 runs scored in the 5th and back-to-back triples from Ryan M and Ryan H led to two more runs. The difference was one, and Beers ended on the winning side.

Game Four: Vertex v. Dingers

Vertex continues to rake offensively this season. Shane Hanna with the hot bat goes 4-4 with 2 triples and a home run. He drove in 4 and scored 4 times. Frank Staber was also 4-4 with 4 singles and 3 runs scored. Vertex cracks the 20-run mark again plating 21.

Dingers didn’t really get much going until the 4th. Mike Casbar, Brandon Burkhead, Anthony Casselli and Zach Zbursky all scored in the frame bring their run total to 6. But all this do was eliminate the mercy rule in the 4th. Vertex big winners 21-6.
