Week 4 - July 16th

Post by latincontrol »

Game One: Vertex v. Da Bears

Da Bears showed up for the game, but did not display ‘Da Bears’ defense. Speaking on offense first, Curran Cornely, Jason Aldeman and Austin Igro all drove in a run in the 2nd inning. Austin later homered in the 5th, but that was it for the team. Four runs total.

Four runs won’t do it against Vertex. Batting 11 in the line-up, 15 men went to the plate in the 1st. Matt Crowell went 2-2 in the inning with 2 doubles and 3 rbi….the first inning alone! Shanna Hanna continues to dominate the Tuesday night stat board with yet another great performance. This time, 4-5 with two bombs (1st inning 2-run HR and 5th inning 2-run HR). He scored 3 times and drove in 6.
Shane Hanna 6, Da Bears 4. Kidding, Vertex 28, Da Bears 4.

Game Two: Cale’s Pale Ales v. Dingers

Kevin Raymond had a perfect night going 4-4 with 2 ribbies and run scored from the lead-off spot. Dan Digesuppe scored 2 more while Jacob Snavely drove in 2. But the runs were hard to come by as they pushed 7 men across.

Dingers on the other hand, well hit some dingers. Brandon Birkhead had a 3-run HR in the first inning and followed it with a solo shot in the 2nd. Mike Casbar also went yard twice hitting 3-run homers in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Rick Schmidt got in on the fun hitting a 2-run shot in the 6th. Dingers score 13 times and nearly double up Cale’s…13-7.

Game Three: Dingers v. Beers

Dingers looked to stay hot offensively in their 2nd game of the night but while Rick Schmidt drove in 2 and Mike Casbad drove in 4, that would be it. Casbar hit a 3-run shot in the 5th, but Dingers score just 7.

Beers on the other hand, well handed out more just a 6-pack, they provided a case plating 22. Connor MacFarlane had a night driving in 7 which included a 4th inning grand slam. Rich Acierno scored 4 times while Ryan Whiteley, Josh Goldberg and Connor all scored 3 times. Beers easy victors, 22-7.

Game Four: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Team Horsham

Eric Wesolowski singled and scored in the first off of Dave Shannon 6-3 ground out. That’s it. Mike Marcellone singled in the 3rd, no other offense from the team.

Horsham needed just 3 innings to put the game away. SIXTEEN men went to the plate in the first inning alone in route to 12 runs scored. Austin Anderson drove in 3 in the inning while Brett Saverio and Dan Lineberger both drove in 3 for the game. Horsham wins via mercy rule, 21-1.
