Game One: Dingers v. Team Horsham

Dingers got nice production from Pete Iu as he finished the night 4-4 with 3 runs scored and 2 rbi. One of his hits being a 5th inning triple. John Gibson also had a decent night finishing with two hits, both xtra base hits (double, triple) while scoring once and driving in a run. In the 7th, Dingers plated 5 runs to make the game interesting with 13 runs total.

Team Horsham seemed to have fared better, but the Dingers’ defense played a major part. In just the first inning, three errors were committed allowing Horsham to score 3 times. Four additional errors the rest of the game really kept Horsham in the game as well. Brett Saverio scored 3 times and hit a 2-run HR in the 4th inning. Mike Crompton scored three times on 3 hits and drove in one. Dingers could not refocus after so many errors and lose this one, 18-13.

Game Two: Da Bears v. Cale’s Pale Ales

Bears also get a little help from their opponent as four errors are committed in the game. Sean Valenza took advantage late in the ame with a 5th inning double and 7th inning single. He scored both times. Kyle Lockard finished the night with 3 hits which included a big 2-run double in the 7th. This hit would prove to be the insurance runs they needed.

Cale’s did not really get going offensively until the 4th inning, after Brennan Rudnick tripled to lead off and later scored. They’d finish with 3 in the inning. Brennan again tripled in the 6th as they pushed across 3 more runs setting up their late game rally. Kevin Raymond doubled home a run and John Puileggi singled home another, with the winning run at the plate…a fyl ball to the outfield will end the rally and seal the win for Da Bears…8-7.

Game Three: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Da Bears

Mike’s went down rather quietly in the first two frames, but in the third they put in that work. They bat around in the inning with the highlights coming from Kyle Saba’s 2-run triple and Mike Marcelline’s 2-run double. A total of 8 runs would come across. Bats then again went silent until the 6th where they pushed 4 more runs across. John Biondo singled home the 12th and final run for Mike’s.

On the other end, Da Bears were warmed up offensively now playing in the 2nd game of their twin bill. Tyler F scored 4 times and drove in 4 more…Adam C homered in the 3rd, a 2-run shot, Robert K finished with 3 rbi…and Tom R really put the game away with a 6th inning bases-clearing triple. Da Bears pound Mike’s 23-12.

Game Four: Beers v. Vertex

Beers got nice production from Scott Runzer as he smashed a solo home run in the 5th and 7th innings. Greg Ashton and Josh Chud both scored 3 times and Ryan Calabro, Greg Ashton and Connor Macfarlane all tripled in the game. Josh’s 7th inning rbi double capped a 14-run night for Beers.

Vertex got long balls from Justin Miller and Mike Bitterlich while KC Ingram scored a total of 3 times. Russell Miller tripled home a run in the 6th and and Keith Crowell doubled home a run in the 7th. Frank Staber singled in the 7th looking to tie the game and set up a walk off scenario, but Keith Crowell got thrown out at the plate from a throw in right field to fend off the rally and allow Beers to take the dramatic win, 14-13.
