Game One: Philly Junk v. Vertex

PJ started off well offensively plating 19 runs through the first 4 innings. Mike Bitterlich and Brandon Birkhead both went yard (Matt solo bomb) and Brandon (2-run shot) while the two scored 8 combined runs. Mike Testa tripled home 3 runs in the third and Ryan Russell added a 2-run inside the park homer in the 5th. Philly Junk finished with 22 for the game.

Vertex came into the game short on players but not sure on offensive power. They plated 8 runs in the first inning, went quiet through the 4th before putting up nearly 20 runs in the final 3 innings. Matt Crowell drove in 4 runs, Matt Schaub scored 4 times, Zach Martin scored 4 times, Dave DeStephanis drove in 6 and Frank Staber drove in 4. Vertex went on to score 27 runs and take the high-scoring affair by 5.

Game Two: Mike’s Bar & Grill v. Da Bears

Mike’s line for the game: 14 runs on 17 hits and 12 walks. Yes, 17 hits but those walks sure came in handy. Matt McReynolds with the 4-4 night which included 4 singles, 3 runs scored and 4 rbi. Dave Shannon tripled home 2 runs in the 2nd while Eric Wesolowski helped with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Mike’s finished with 14 runs.

Da Bears did all of their work in the 2nd and 4th innings. Kyle Irwin tripled home a run and later scored on Austin’s double. Matt Kohn smashed a solo shot and was later followed by Sean Valenza’s 2-run bomb. Kyle again coming up big in the 4th with a 2-run single. Zack Lyall tripled home 1 and Tom Robinson drove home 2 with a single. Bears went on to score 9 in that frame. Those two innings proved to be enough as they took the game 17-14.

Game Three: Kohn & Bobrin Assoc v. Dingers

KBA had themselves a monstrous 2nd inning when they scored 10 times. Brian McEachern tripled and Zach Prendergast capped the inning with his 2-run single. Zach later smashed a 3-run homer in the 3rd and another 3-run homer in the 5th.

Dingers did not do much ‘dinging’ as they managed just 7 runs on 9 hits. Chris Marion singled home 2 and scored 2 times. Not much more happening here…
Zach Prendergast 9 – Dingers 7. 😊
