So the post season begins!
We start with the American Conference, one game playoff for the right to play Toto Financial/Kiefer Landscaping in the Finals.

3 Seed: Beers v. 2 Seed: Vertex Pest Management

Vertex scored 4 times in the 2nd inning after Matt Schaub, CJ Snyder, Keith Crowell & Frank Staber all crossed the plate. Matt Crowell doubled home 2 runs in the 5th and Tom Egitto tripled and scored in the 6th. But the usually better scoring Vertext team was held to 7 runs.

The lower-seeded Beers however had themselves a great game off the bat of Ryan Maley. Ryan went 4-5 hitting for the cycle. A double in the 1st, single in the 2nd, 3-run Homer in the 4th and a 3-run triple in the 7th. Almost single handedly beating VErtext by driving in 6 runs. Alex Goldberg was 3-3 with 3 runs scored and Matt Kane also scored 3 times. Beers took the game 16-7.

In the National Conference, we jumped right into the Finals between Cale’s Pale Ales and Mike’s Bar & Grill.
The total score of this 2-game final was 49-19.

Mike’s made a valiant effort in game 1 scoring 13 times. Mark Kennedy doubled twice, Chad Wood drove in 3 runs and Eddie Haddle also doubled twice.
But Nick Delrentis drovein 6 runs alone on a 4-4 night which included a 3-run homer. Brenan Rudnick also smashed a 3-run shot and Cale Mosher was 4-4 with 3 doubles and 3 runs scored. Cales plated 21.

Game two, Mike’s ran out of gas; managing just 6 runs on 9 hits. Sean Pena had 2 of those hits in 2 AB’s and Eddie Haddle cleared the bases in the 3rd with a triple.

Cales needed just the 3rd inning when they batted around and drove in 11 runs. Brenan R, TJ D & Dave K all tripled in the inning. Dave K blasted two home runs in the game while driving in 5. All this while taking advantage of a defensive meltdown from Mike who committed 8 errors in the game.
Cale’s Pale Ales took the 2-game series and are your Summer National Conference Champs!
