Game 1: Throwdown vs Irish Car Bombs

Throwdown jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the top half of the first and ICB could only get one back in the bottom half. ICB tied it up after a run in the second. Scoring picked up in the 3rd as Throwdown brought in 2 more in the top half and ICB plated 3 in their side of the inning. Throwdown would add 6 more runs over the next 2 innings which included two triples by Alex Elmore. ICB would only muster 2 runs over the same span and trail 10-6 heading into the 6th. Extra base hits by Wayne Horger Jr. (3B), Gary Thompson (HR), Jimmy Craig (2B), Step Farrar (HR) and Bryan Peterman (HR) led the way to 11 runs over the final two frames for Throwdown. They would go on to win by a score of 21-8.

Game 2: TGIF vs Philly Junk

TGIF would come out of the gates swinging as they went one and a half times through the lineup on their way to 9 first inning runs. Philly junk shaved the deficit to 7 after a 2-run bottom half. TGIF would extend their lead after a Adam Lightkep grand slam in the second inning giving him his 5th RBI in 2 innings of work. Unfortunately for TGIF they could only muster one more run for the rest of the game. Philly Junk trailed 13-2 heading into the bottom of the 3rd and that is when things started clicking. A 3-run homer by Mike Bitterlich led the way to a 4 run 3rd. That was followed up by a 4-run 4th which included a fury of singles. The bottom of the 5th is the last time Philly Junk would trail as they hammer home 8 runs which included another Bitterlich 3-run tater. Craig Richards would add a 3-run homer of his own in the 6th to give Philly Junk all the insurance they would need as they win 23-16.

Game 3: TGIF vs IDC

TGIF had to shake off the loss and come right back to try and salvage the night against IDC. The first 4 innings looked much like the last 4 of the previous game. TGIF would sprinkle across 4 runs across the first four frames while IDC drove in 15. Justin Miller drove in 4-runs in those innings via a 2-run triple and a 2-run dinger. Curt Hensman and Jarrett Kerns both had 2-run doubles as well. Unfortunately for IDC that is where the scoring would stop. TGIF reviewed the notes from the previous game and started to chip away at their deficit. A 7-run 5th, which included a 2-run double by Warren Gant, brought them some confidence. They came back and added 2 more in the 6th to make the score 15-13. That score held heading into the 7th. After TGIF cut the deficit to 1 on a Ron Pulli RBI single, Warren Gant stepped to the plate with 2 on and 1 out. He blasted a 3-run homer that gave TGIF the lead and the eventual win! TGIF takes it in the thrilling comeback, 17-15.

Game 4: Chico's vs Titans

The last game of the night was not to be outdone as we had another comeback on our hands. Chico's exploded out of the gate scoring 8 runs on mostly singles in the first and added another 2 runs in the 2nd. Titans would get 4 in the bottom of the 1st and then take the lead after scoring 7 in the 2nd. Kevin Bramble contributed with a 2-run bomb. Chico's quickly regained the lead after a 5-run 3rd. With Chico's up 15-11 heading into the The Titans would tie the game with a 4-run bottom half of the inning. Time would play a factor as the 6th inning would be the final inning of the night. Chico's plated 5 runs, including extra base hits by Larry Kirschner and Chris Osmain, to take a 5 run lead into the bottom of the final inning. The Titans would get one run back quickly but then get down to their final out. Mike Dura then cleared the bases with a 3-run double to bring them within a run. After the next 2 batters worked walks Tom Moyer came to the plate with the chance to be the hero. He hit a ball that should have been the final out but an error allowed 2 runs to score and the Titans to win the game in a walk off, 21-20.
