Week 4 at the Quarry

Game 1: Irish Car Bombs (3-1) at Outback Steakhouse (1-3)
ICB jumps out in the 2nd inning with 11 runs on eleven singles, a walk and a double to take a 12-2 lead. Outback gets 2 back in the bottom half on a single, a triple and an error but then gives up a 3-run HR to Jarred Gardner in the top of the 3rd. Outback gets 5 back in the bottom of the 3rd while holding ICB scoreless in the top of the 4th and then gets 4 more in the bottom half to cut their deficit to only 2.ICB gets 2 in the top of the 5th but Outback stays hot, plating 5 runs on singles and triples to take a 18-17 lead. ICB gets a 3-run HR by Anthony Crawford in the top of the 6th and another run on a singles and sac fly to go up 21-18. Outback gets a single run back in the bottom half and ICB gets 1 in the top of the 7th. Outback comes up in the bottom of the 7th down by 3. They’d get their first 4 batters on base, scoring 2 of them. Ryan Henritzy comes up and hits a walk-off 3-run HR to give Outback the win 24-22.

Game 2: The Commission (2-1) at Mayhem (3-1)
The Commission gets 2 quick runs in the top of the 1st on two triples and a singles and then 2 more runs on the 2nd on two singles and an error. Mayhem ties it on the bottom of the 2nd on four hits, a walk and an error. Commission get 1 in the 3rd and Mayhem takes the lead in the bottom half with 2 runs on four singles and then extends the lead in the 4th with 2 more runs. The Commission gets 5 in the 5th to take the lead 10-8 and Mayhem gets 1 in the bottom half to cut their deficit to 1. Commission gets another 1 in the top of the 7th to go up 11-9. Mayhem gets 5 straight singles in the bottom of the 7th to tie and win the game 12-11.

Player of the game: Carl Motts (Commission): 4/4 (2 1B, 2B, 3B) 2 R

Game 3: The Commission (2-2) at Vertex Pest Management (0-3)
The Commission run 6 across the plate in the top of the 1st but Vertex answers with 3 in the bottom half. Commission get 4 more in the top of the 2nd but hold Vertex this time to take a 10-3 lead after 2. Each team gets 3 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th. Commission gets 3 more in the 5th, 2 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th while holding Vertex to only 2 runs after the 4th and take this one 23-10.

Player of the game: Brian Penecale (Commission): 5/5 (5 1B) 3 R, 3 RBI

Game 4: Sex Panthers (3-0) at Mermen (1-1)
Merman get 2 in the top of the 1st to take a 2-0 lead and then Panthers answer with 5 in the bottom half. Merman get 1 in the 2nd but Panthers answer again with 3 in the top of the 3rd. Merman gets a 2-run HR by Cody Miller in the bottom of the 3rd and then hold the Panthers in the 4th and plate 2 more in the bottom half to cut their deficit to 8-7. The Panthers come up in the top of the 5th and run 6 across the plate and then hold Mermen scoreless in the bottom half. Mermen get 2 in the bottom of the 6th but it wouldn’t be enough and the Panthers take this one 16-9.
