Week 5 at the Quarry

Game 1: The Commission (2-2) at Outback Steakhouse (1-4)
The Commission starts off quick with 4 runs in the top of the 1st on five singles, an error and a ground out. Outback answers with a 3-run HR by Greg Moylan in the bottom half to cut the Commission’s lead to 1. Outback would tack on 4 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, 7 in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th while Commission would only get solo HRs by Brian Penecale and Nick Wasekanes in the 3rd and Outback takes this one 21-6.

Player of the game: Ryan Henritzy (Outback): 4/4 (1B, 2B, 2 HR), 2 R, 5 RBI

Game 2: Irish Car Bombs (3-2) at Mayhem (4-1)
Both teams start off strong, plating 4 runs in their respective halves of the 1st inning. Both teams then go scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd innings except for a solo HR by Jared Gardner n the top of the 3rd to give ICB a 5-4 lead. Mayhem takes the lead in the bottom of the 4th by plating 6 runs on eight hits including a 2–run HR by Eric Beatty. ICB answers in the top of the 5th with 5 runs of their own, tying the game at 10. Mayhen takes the lead on a solo HR by Justin Miller and then a double and sac fly. ICB answers in the bottom half with 5 more runs on a walk and five hits including a 2-run HR by Ryan Goodman to take a 15-12 lead. Mayhem gets a solo HR by Brian Acker in the bottom half but then another solo HR by Jared Gardner and another 2-run HR by Ryan Goodman put ICB up 18-13. Mayhem comes up in the bottom of the 7th and their first three men on base and knock them all in but a flyout would end the game and give ICB the 18-16 win.

Player of the game: Ryan Goodman (ICB): 4/5 (2 1B, 2 HR) 3 R, 5 RBI

Game 3: Gargas Gang (2-2) at Sex Panthers (4-0)
Gargas Gang starts off quickly by plating 3 runs in the top of the 1st on a walk and four hits. Panthers answer with 7 runs on six hits, two walks and a sac fly and then 6 more in the 2nd on six singles and a double. GG adds 2 in the top of the 3rd and one in the 4th but Panthers get 6 more in the bottom of the 4th to take a 20-8 lead. Both teams get 5 in their halves of the 6th and Panthers take this one 25-13.

Player of the game: Jim Lelli (Panthers): 5/6 (3 1B, 2B, 3B) 4R, 4 RBI

Game 4: Callahan Auto (2-3) at Ballz Deep (4-0)
Callahan gets 2 in the 1st on a walk, groundout, another walk, a double and two errors to take a 2-0 lead. BD comes up and runs 9 across the plate on four hits, a groundout and three errors. Callahan cuts into their deficit in the 2nd by scoring 5 runs on four singles, three doubles and three walks but they wouldn’t get another runs all night. BD would go on to get 1 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd and 4 in the 6th to take this one 17-7.
