Game 1 - Generals @Sons of Pitches
John Muniz got the Generals rolling in the first with a solo homer. SofP's would answer with a series of singles and walks, netting them 3 in the bottom of the inning. Generally speaking, the Generals would struggle to muster much offense tonight, scoring just 3 more runs throughout the last 6 innings. SofPs played small ball, but racking up 10 additional runs. Tim Glick went 4/4, scored 3 times, and drove one in.
Player of the Game - Tim Glick - Sons of Pitches - 4/4, 1 double, 3 runs scored, 1 RBI.
Game 2 - Dirty Dozen @ Cobra Kai
D12 would score in every inning of this one. Andrew Alexander would double, then later score on a Jaden Newman single. D12 would plate 3 in the first. The Kai would answer with 1 after Jay Pane doubled in Steve Reed. The Kai would only have 9 players, but somehow that didn't stop them from batting out of order, killing the momentum of their 9-6 lead. Going into the 6th, the game would be tied at 10. D12 strung together 3 singles, ta double, and 2 walks, collecting 3 runs in the process. Due to time, this game would end after 6, and Cobra Kai would get one more chance to bat. Steve Reed would single, Cory Gomez bangs a double, and Tyler Gower would clear the bases with a long ball - tying the game at 13. But that's all she wrote, as the Kai couldn't get another base runner on.
Player of the Game - Tyler Gower - Cobra Kai - 3-4 ,3 runs scored, 3 RBIs, 1 HR, 2 doubles.
Game 3 - Misfits @ American Legion
Well, American Legion has returned after winning the spring chip, and come in hot. They'd give up 1 run in the first to Jim Carden, then hold the 'Fits scoreless the rest of the way. Legion would post 26 in the 1st. Yes, that's not a typo, twenty-six. Every player in the lineup would score after their very first at-bat, and the first 6 in the lineup would each score 3 times in the opening inning. This one was over after 4 innings.
Player of the Game - American Legion's Entire Lineup - 32/43.
Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
