Game 1 - Misfits @ Cobra Kai
Cobra Kai was hot out of the wrapper, posting 4 in the first and 4 more in the second. Matty Poust, Steve Reed, Jay Pane, & Cory Gomez would each score twice. Gomez posted 2 bombs for 5 RBIs while Reed would blast a 2-run shot. Pane and Gomez would each score a third time, tallying 10 for the Kai. The Misfits would wake up in the 3rd and score in every inning after. Jim Carden went yard, driving in 2 and Randy Helsman would hit a solo shot. But all for not, as the Misfits come up 1 short. Cobra Kai defeats the Misfits, 10-9.

Player of the Game - Cory Gomez - Cobra Kai - 3/3, 2 HRs, 5 RBIs, BB, 3 runs scored.

Game 2 - Dirty Dozen @ Sons of Pitches
D12 mustered no runs through the first 2 innings, but came alive in the 3rd with 6 big runs. A collections of singles, doubles, walks, sac flies, and a 3 run homer helped them grab a 6-4 lead. John Aiken & Cory Wambold started the streak with walks, and Justin O'Brien hit the 3 run dinger. Sons of Pitches would answer with 6 of their own, mostly behind solo shots from Tim Frei & Bob Stanley, and the 3-run blast from Josh Carl. D12 rakes in 7 more in the 4th, mostly behind singles. O'Brien would go yard again, this time a 2-run homer. After 4, D12 would lead 13-12. The 5th and 6th inning cooled off, as the run bonanza came to a screeching halt. D12 only scrapped together 1 run per inning, totaling 15. SofP's would score 2 in the 5th. They entered the bottom of the 6th down 1 - and the luminous time limit hanging over their heads and the middle of their lineup coming to the plate. Bob Stanley - flied out. Keith Bauer - grounded out. Down 2, 2 outs, and ken Huber would extend the game with a single. Bobby "Baseball" Hartzel does what Bobby Baseball does - singles. Josh Carl drives in both runners with 2 outs. SofP's walks it off in 6, 16-15.

Player of the Game - Josh Carl - Sons of Pitches - 2/3, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, BB, walk off single.

Game 3 - American Legion @ The Generals
The opening 4 innings for American Legion were quite productive, particularly for the bottom half of the lineup. 20 runs in total, all but 3 were scored by batters 6 - 12, including a single, double, and homer from Tom Banes. The Generals would answer with 12 in the first 3 innings, behind an array of singles and doubles. Dylan Patterson, Chris Forrester, and John Muniz each would score twice in this stretch. In the 7th, the Generals would add 3 more, but it wouldn't be enough in the loss, 23-15.

Player of the Game - Mike Skrzat - American Legion - 4/5, 2 HRs, 3 RBIs, 4 runs scored, 1 triple.

Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
