Playoff Edition

Game One
Dirty Dozen @ Sons of Pitches

D12 would exit the 4th inning, with a 9-7 lead, built off a 3-run homer from Justin O’Brien. They would add 1 run in both this 5th and 6th inning. SoP’s was held scoreless in the 5th, and would need a big effort to overcome an 11-7 deficit. SoP’s would bat around after Bobby Hartzell started the inning with a walk. He’d score, and then 10 batters later, Bobby would end the inning with a ground ball to 2nd. But in between his 2 at-bats, SoP’s would go on a tear, scoring 7. A series of singles and a pair of doubles by Ken Huber and Jaiden Hurrey buried D12. Sons of Pitches defeats Dirty Dozen, 14-11 and move on to game three later in the night vs American Legion.

Player of the Game: Tim Glick, Sons of Pitches, 3/4 - 1 HR (grand slam), 7 RBIs, 1 run scored.

Game Two
Cobra Kai @ Misfits

Five innings in, the Kai would gather zero runs. Misfits would score 3 in the first, each of their first 3 batters (Triolo, Carden, Helsman). Mike Shutt would score in the 6th, making it 4-0, Misfits. The Kai would catch a spark in the 6th, with the top passing the bat. Poust, Gomez, Pane, Gower, & Plaugher all check in with hits, and the Kai score 4. Steve Reed and Jake Haber each score in the 7th, topping off the night with 6 runs for the Kai. Misfits go down 1,2,3 in the 7th. Cobra Kai defeats Misfits, 6-4 and move on to the championship next week.

Player of the Game: Matty Poust, Cobra Kai, 3/4 - 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, 1 run scored.

Game Three
Sons of Pitches @ American Legion

Well, this one didn’t last long. After four innings, SoP’s would only cross the plate twice. Blaine Hurrey and Ryan McAvery tallied those two runs. In that same span, Legion posted 22 runs. Every Legion-er would score, most would score twice. Brian Wrigley and Tom Banes each would blast 3-run shots. American Legion defeats Sons of Pitches, 22-4 and will face Cobra Kai next week for the chip.

Player of the Game: The Mercy Rule

***Shout out to scorekeeper, Fern. In the words of Billy Joel, "Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes." For now it's goodbye... until next week!
