Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. Blue Dog

Carroll’s get rolling early in this one as a two run bomb from Kevin Shinkunas gives them the early 3-0 lead. Blue Dog gets one back in the bottom of the inning from an RBI single from Jason Robinson. Neither team can score any runs in the second before Carroll’s get back to work in the third. Shinkunas and Bill Shipe give them RBI doubles and Allie Theis smacks an RBI single to give them an RBI single. Robinson gets Blue Dog back into the game in the bottom of the inning with a three run bomb into the woods. After a quiet fourth inning, Carroll’s come out swinging to the tune of five runs. Thies started the scoring with an RBI triple and a couple of batters later, Mike Stacy smashes a three run bomb. Carroll’s tack on one more run in the seventh off a Shipe RBI double to take care of business. Carroll’s win 12-6.

Game #2 – Blue Dog vs. Bry-Lex

Blue Dog grab two runs in the first inning after a couple singles and then a sac fly from Dave Gers and fielder’s choice from John Rodriguez. Bry-Lex double that in the bottom of the inning. Ryan Hines smashed a two run homer to start the inning and Tom Koelzer blast a two run bomb later in the inning to give Bry-Lex the 4-2 lead. Blue Dog takes the lead in the third after a two run double from Gers as they lead 6-4 heading into the bottom of the third. That is short lived as Bry-Lex comes out with a five run inning. Bryce Bundy had the big blow with a three run bomb. Blue Dog answer in the fifth as they put together their big inning with six runs. Mark McCouch Sr. and Mark McCouch Jr. start the scoring with RBI singles and then Gers stays hot with an RBI double. Jason Robinson got involved in the inning as well with a two run single. Blue Dog continues to swing well in the sixth after getting a three run bomb from Mark McCouch Sr. Bry-Lex try to climb back into the game, but will fall short in this one. Blue Dog wins 20-13.

Game #3 – The Maize vs. LA Pools

LA Pools get going early in this one pushing three runs across in the first couple of innings. Tom Finn had an RBI single and Rich Reinheimer had an RBI triple. Maize grabbed one back in the second with a RBI single from John Razzi. Pools open up big in the bottom of the third batting around and pushing 10 runs across. Joan Glass started the inning with a bases clearing triple followed by a Linda Dart RBI double. The inning continues on with a two run single from Glen Hipple, an RBI double from Greg Lavin and another RBI hit from Joan Glass. Maize try to scrap back into this one getting one run in the fifth and one run in the sixth. It wouldn’t be enough in this one as Maize can’t get anything going late and will fall in this one. Pools win 14-6.
