Game #1 – Maize vs. Blue Dog

Maize gets started early in this one as they bat around and put up six runs. Tom Eggito gets the scoring going with a two run double. Bill Worthington, Bob Garges and Rachel McAlister also all had RBI singles in the inning as well. Blue Dog responds in a big way getting all those runs back and then some with eleven total runs in the bottom of the first. Mark McCouch Sr. started the scoring with a two run single and a couple of batters later, Emily Kline knocks in a two run single of her own. Ed Reynolds also had a big two run double in the inning to help Blue Dog with their lead. Reynolds was back at it again in the second, this time driving in one on a RBI double. Blue Dog continue to control the game down the stretch as Reynolds again gets it going with a bases clearing triple as he continues to swing the bat very well. Maize puts a charge into the fifth inning as they try to mount their comeback. They end up getting RBI hits from Ryan Garges, Nick Chiaberini, Eggitio and Bob Garges and bring the game all the way back to within two runs. But we would end there due to time limit as Blue Dog holds on in this one. Blue Dog wins 19-17.

Player of the Game:
Ed Reynolds (Blue Dog) – 3/3, 2B, 2 3B’s, 6 RBI’s

Game #2 –New Age vs. Techline Trauma

New Age comes out flying in this one as they put up seven runs across the first couple of innings. Melissa Barno started the scoring with an RBI single and that is followed up by a two run single from Mark White and two run single from Rich Peterson. New Age would bat around in the third inning and put up 14 runs total pushing their lead up to 21. The entire team got involved in this inning, but they stayed patient at the plate and really drew up the walk count, which helped them lead to a bunch of runs. Keith Briggs and Katherine Eames also helped out in the inning with RBI doubles. Coty Thomas really puts it away with a grand slam. In the end, we only play four innings as New Age take control and dominate in this shutout. New Age wins 21-0.

Coty Thomas (New Age) – 2/3, HR, 5 RBI’s
