Quarry 10-14-19

Game #1 – Roos vs. Dug Out Demons

Roos come out firing with two runs in the top of the first. Jeremy Villano started it with an RBI single followed by a sac fly from Anthony Crawford. Demons respond with one run of their own from a Jarret Kerns RBI single. Neither team scores in the second which sends us to the third. Jake Blum nets Roos another RBI single which is then followed by an RBI from Alex Emore pushing their lead to 4-1. Demons tie the game in the fourth getting three runs from a Cody Runner sac fly and errors. Both teams don’t score in the fifth, but come out swinging in the sixth. Back to Back RBI hits from Steph Farrar and Jess Behr give Roos three runs. Kevin Roche gets two runs back from a two run bomb into the quarry woods. Roos tack on three more insurance runs in the seventh and hold off the Demons push in the bottom of the inning as they hold on in this one. Roos win 10-6.

Game #2 – Andy’s vs. Blue Dog Tavern

Andy’s come out swinging in a big way in this one putting up eight runs across the first couple of innings. Ron Pulli started the scoring with a RBI single and a couple of batters later, Mike Koelzer smacked a sac fly to net another run. Ryan C and Adam Lightkep each had two run doubles in the second to help Andy’s. More of the same in the third as Andy’s put up 12 more runs. Ian Cuozzo started the scoring in the inning with a three run bomb and that is followed by Danielle Buzin a couple of batters later with her own two run homer. Lightkep stay red hot at the plate as he plates two more runs with a two run single. Blue Dog can’t get anything rolling in this one as Andy’s dominates from start to finish in this one. Andy’s win 23-1.

Player of the Game:

Game #3 – Carroll’s vs. New Age

The third game of the night starts off with Carroll’s batting around. Greg Lesher started the scoring with an RBI double, which is then followed up by a Bill Shipe RBI triple. Allie Thies, Mike Stacey and Steve DiGiovanni had RBI singles in the inning as well as a Bob McClintock RBI double. The whole team was involved in the first. New Age grabs one of them back from a couple hits and an error. More of the same came across the next three innings for Carroll as they grab six more runs. Shipe went deep in the second, a two run bomb and Lesher added a two run triple. Carroll’s put this game away in the sixth as they again bat around and push six more runs across. John Zeits and Kevin Shinkunas had RBI singles and Lesher had a two run single in the inning. Carroll’s take this game easy and roll in this one. Carroll’s win 23-.

Game #4 – Carroll’s vs. Sons of Pitches

Sons of Pitches take an early lead in the final game of the night after Chris Edgard smokes a two run single and Jill Beck nets one on a fielder’s choice. Carroll’s had gotten two runs in the top of the inning from a Lesher two run double. Dan Gieger gives Pitches another run in the second from an RBI single. Defense shuts down the third inning as neither team can push any runs across. Carroll’s take the lead in the sixth after getting back to back to back RBI singles from John Z, Sarah Y and Kevin S. That is all they would need in this one as they hold on for the win. Carrolls win 11-7.
