Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. Roos

Bill Shipe gets this week rolling with an RBI single to give Carroll’s a 1-0 lead. The game calms down a bit as neither team scores until the third. Carrolls grab three runs on a Mike Stacey RBI double and two run double from Hallie Bilker. Roos grab two runs in the bottom of the inning. Jake Blum and Jeremy Villano knock in back to back RBI singles to net them the two runs. Carroll’s are right back at it in the fourth getting an RBI double from Kevin Shinkunas and two run single from Bill Shipe. John Zeits adds a two run double and Shipe adds another RBI single to increase the Carroll’s lead to 10-2. Roos fights back into the game with a big sixth inning. Villano Smashed an RBI triple and Margicin smashed a two run double for the Roos. Seven innings is not enough as we head to extras after being deadlocked at 10 runs. Carroll’s break the tie first grabbing six runs on Steve DiGiovani and John Zeits RBI singles as well as a Shinkunas RBI double. Roos step up and fail to push any runs across ending this game in favor of Carroll’s. Carroll’s win 16-10.

Game #2 – LA Pools vs. Demons

Demons take an early 4-1 lead after a Nick Mancini RBI single, Pat Kelly sac fly and Trevor Lane RBI double. Greta Sheridan also added a RBI single in the inning. Mancini was back at it again with another RBI single in the second. Pools cut the lead in half as they are able to knock in two runs in the third thanks to a Greg Lavin RBI double. Quickly that was answered by the Demons as they continue to score every inning. Manicini was a menace again, with a two run single as well as another RBI single from Greta Sheridan. Demons lock it down defensively and take this one easy. Demons win 13-3.

Game #3 – Dugout Demons vs. Sandlot Sluggers


Sluggers hold the Demons in the first inning and get right to it in the bottom half of the inning, smashing in four runs. Jarret Kerns starts it with a RBI double, followed by a sac fly from Jenn Sevitski. Nick Maile also added an RBI single in the inning. Sandlot then explodes in the second inning. Kerns bats twice in the inning and gets two separate two run doubles while Curt Hensman smashes a RBI double of his own. Sevetski and Julie Wombold also get RBI singles in the inning. Demons also explode in the inning getting 12 runs of their own. Trevlor Lane smashes a two run single as well as Lauren Wood while Jake Haber smashes a two run single. Sluggers lead by four after a crazy first two innings. Demons cut that to within two runs as they get them back on a Keith Keppley and Haber RBI hit. Back and forth we go as Clement answers for Sluggers with a two run single. We head to the last inning with Demons trailing by three. They get one run on a Jay Pane sac fly. Sluggers grab two more runs thanks to an RBI triple from Kerns. More importantly, too much time has passed and this one ends due to time limit. Sluggers win 22-18.

Game #4 – Rock n Rebel vs. Sons of Pitches

Rebel starts hot with an Ed Reynolds two run triple that helps them take a 3-run lead. Pitches respond right away as they grab four straight singles right off the bat. Jon Motts and CJ Motts each net a RBI and then Carl Motts grabs another RBI on a sac fly and take a 4-3 lead. Rebel ties it up with a Dave McDonald RBI single. Pitches get right back to work and push five runs across in the bottom of the inning. Ryan Windt, Jon Motts and Carl Motts had RBI singles and and CJ Motts had an RBI double. Both teams cool down as we don’t see any runs for a couple of innings. Pitches explode again for seven runs in the fifth. CJ Motts was back add it with an RBI triple and both Justin Ruth and Kevin Toothman grab two RBI’s in the inning. This ends up being too much as Pitches will win this one easy. Pitches win 16-9.
