Game #1 – Carroll’s vs. Dugout Demons

Both teams come out a little slow as neither team scores in the first inning. Ray Patano of Carroll’s strikes first with a two run double. Demons strike back with an RBI single from Ron Bannister cutting the lead in half. Pat Kelly and Bill Shallcross give Demons the lead in the third with an RBI double and sac fly respectfully. Demons really take ahold of the game in the fourth when they push across six more runs. Jake Haber netted two runs on a sac fly and a batter later Pat Kelly smashed a two run homer over the fence. Greta Sheridan adds a two run double later in the game as Demons take this one easy. Demons win 16-5.

Game #2 – Bry-Lex vs. Carroll’s


Nick Diapolo strikes first for Bry-Lex with an RBI single. Carroll’s respond right away in the bottom of the inning grabbing six runs. Greg Lesher started for Carroll’s with a two run home run which is the followed up by a Bill Shipe RBI triple and Kevin Shinkunas RBI single. Bob McClintock added a two run single later in the inning. Carroll’s get another four runs in the second; thanks in big part to a two run triple from Lesher. Bry-Lex finally gets going again in the fourth as they are able to put together a big inning and bat around. Colin Donohoe starts it with an two run triple and DiPaulo, Katie Donohoe and Danielle Evans get RBI hits in the inning as well. Carl Petetti also add a two run single in the inning as well. Carroll’s come right back as Lesher strikes again. He smashes a three run homer which helps sparks another three runs. RBI singles also pace the fifth for Carroll’s as they will run away with this one. Carroll’s win 24-9.

Game #3 – LA Polls vs. Rock N Rebel


Pools get the next game going with back to back RBI hits from Glen Hipple and Greg Lavin as they come out firing. Joan Glass and Rich Reinheimer also grab RBI singles later in the inning. Rebels responds immedaietly getting three runs of their own from a Ed Reynolds sac fly and Ray Barry RBI single. Pools add three more runs from RBI singles from Theresa Groves, Greg Rielly and Hipple. Pools head into the bottom of the third leading 9-3. Rebel gets four runs back in the bottom of the inning then. Mark McCouch had an RBI double and Barry added another on an RBI single. Rebel takes the lead in the fourth after a grand slam off the bat of Ed Reynolds. They get three more runs in the inning and take a 14-11 lead after four innings. Pools take the lead back on a two run double from Lavin as well as RBI double from Fin as they take a one run lead. Again this is short lived as Rebels take the lead back. They get four runs on a Dave McDonald RBI double as well as Bobby Citrino RBI single and will take this one late. Rebel wins 18-15.

Game #4 – The Maize vs. Sandlot Sluggers

Jackie Heim gets the scoring going for Sluggers with a first inning RBI double followed by a sac fly from Jenn Sevitsky. Sluggers keep it goin in the second with two big homers. Axel Alicea started it with a two run bomb and then Jarret Kerns added a two run shot later in the inning jumping out to a 7-0 lead early. Sluggers look to put this game away early with an eleven run third inning. The whole team was involved in this one, but the inning was highlighted by two RBI singles from Alicea and a two run single from Sevitsky. The Maize continue to struggle as they can’t push any runs across. Sluggers put this game away with five more runs in the fourth as they will end this one early due to mercy rule. Sluggers win 23-3.
