Game #1 – Bry-Lex vs. Sandlot Sluggers

Sluggers are the first one to strike as they bat around in the first inning, putting up a whopping 12 runs. Nick Maile gets the party started with an RBI single, followed by a Jarrett Kerns RBI double. Maile had a bases clearing triple later in the inning, which was then followed up by an RBI triple by Kerns, both having two hits in the inning. Bry-Lex get their first runs of the game in the third with back to back RBI singles from Colin Donohoe and Nick Diapolo. Axel Alecia and Dave Cunninham add RBI singles in the fourth to increase the Sluggers lead to 15-3. Sluggers really put this game away late with four more runs and will take this one easy. Sluggers win 19-4.

Game #2 – Dug Out Demons vs. Sons of Pitches

The second game of the night gets started with a three-run single from Pat Kelly as he takes a courtesy runner on the night. Pitches get their night rolling with a seven run third inning. Kevin Toothman and Jon Motts had RBI singles while Ryan Windt and Bryl Villanera had RBI doubles in the inning. Neither team scores again until the fifth when Pitches are back at it again. Motts netted two runs on a sac fly and Villanuera got one after drawing a walk. Demons start their comeback in the seventh, getting back to back RBI singles from Keith Keppley and Nick Mancini. Kelley then smashes a two run homer getting them to within one run. That is where their run would end as they will fall in this one. Pitches win 11-10.

Player of the Game:

Game #3 – Knuckleheads vs. Carroll’s Jewelers

Knuckleheads strike first with a RBI double from Bobby H and sac fly from Kyle S. Carroll’s respond with two runs of their own with a Mike Stacey sac fly and RBI single from Steve DiGiovanni. Carroll’s take the lead with a four run third after back to back RBI singles from Bryan Bart and Bill Shipe as well as two run single from Allie Theis. Knuckleheads don’t score again til the fifth when they get a Vic V RBI double, but Carroll’s keep the pressure on. Bart smashes a two run homer in the fifth and Shipe smashes a three run homer in the sixth as Carroll’s will hold onto this one and pull out the victory. Carroll’s Jewelers win 13-8.

Game #4 – Knuckleheads vs. Wackers

Knuckleheads look to get going in their second game and do so putting up five runs right out of the gate. Brandon Birkhead, Kyle S and Colin had RBI singles and Steph F had an RBI double. Wackers respond big with seven runs of their own. Jaden Newman, Brian Dicscress and Mike Ivers all had RBI singles and Freeman added an RBI triple as well. Freeman then got one more run in the second on a Freeman RBI single. Birkhead gets Knuckleheads to within one run with a two run bomb. Knuckleheads bats then go cold. Wackers add one in the fifth on an Ivers RBI single and he gets another in the sixth. Lissa Torcha adds a two run double in the sixth as they will put this game away late. Wackers win 14-7.
