Game #1 – Sandlot Sluggers vs. Dugout Demons

Sluggers get rolling right out of the gate with a two run double from Tom Koezler. A couple of batters later, Axel shows up Koezler and smacks a ball deep into the quarry foods, losing another precious softball and giving them a 5-0 lead. Sluggers grab another run in the second inning on a Jarret Kerns RBI double as they increase their lead to 7-0. Phil gets his team going in the second with a Ryan Goodman RBI single and Marissa RBI single cutting the lead to 7-2. Axel pulls out the homer bat again and send another one to the woods. Juluis and Justin net three more runs later in the inning to round out the inning. Sluggers keep their foot on the pedal with two more runs in the fourth. Koezler tries to do his best Axel impersonation, but keeps it in the yard for a sac fly. Kerns adds a late bomb as Demons really struggle in this one. The two runs they put up in the first inning end up being the only runs they can get in this one and they will fall. Sluggers win 17-2.

Player of the Game:
Axel (Sluggers) – 3/3, 2 HR’s, 4 RBI’s

Game #2 – Roos vs. Dugout Demons

Demons look to right the ship after struggling big time in their first game of the night. They start well, getting a fast one two three inning in the top half of the inning. Demons get two runs on a Ryan Goodman double in the bottom half of the inning. Jake Blum responds for Roos driving in a run on a triple cutting the lead in half. Roos grab a lead in the third after a four run inning on a Chris Lansberry RBI triple, Hannah Jimenez RBI single and a couple of errors. Demons bring that lead back to within two on a two run double from Pat Kelly. Demons break open their own lead in the fourth on a two run hit from Marissa, but again that is short lived as Roos respond. Jordan Jimenez does the damage for Roos with a three run bomb that their still looking for. Demons channel their homer run power and get back to back shots from Charlie Hooker and Pat Kelly as they again take the lead. Demons grab a couple more runs as we head to the seventh. Roos explode in the seventh for seven runs as they take a lead again. Frank Fusca paced the inning with a two run blast while Tom Montuydas, Blum and Nadrew Greeby all have RBI singles as well. Demons need to respond to win this one, but only get one run on a Jake Haber sac fly and will fall in this one. Roos win 16-13.

Player of the Game:
Jordan Jimenez (Roos) – 2/3, BB, HR, 3 RBI’s

Game #3 – Total Liquidators vs. Mott-Ley Crew

Crew will get the win as Liquidators are not able to field a team on this night. Great job to Crew for being available.

Player of the Game:

Game #4 – Rock N Rebel vs. The Maize

Rebel start off with an Ed Reynolds RBI double and two run single from Emily Kline, grabbing a quick 3-0 lead. Maize drinks the same kool-aid getting three runs of their own. Davis and Michelle both had RBI singles in the inning. Maize keeps it going again in the second, with five more runs. Will, Aron and Davis all had RBI single while Gary had a big sac fly. Rebel get a couple of runs back on a two run triple from Marc McCouch, but Maize gets rolling again in the third, with six more runs. Singles seem to be the key for Maize big hitting tonight. Davis has another RBI single in the inning as he stays hot on the day from the plate. Both teams seem to be hitting every inning as back and forth, each team knocks in runs for the next coupld of innings. We fast forward to the seventh where Rebel finds their backs against the wall. Mark McCouch starts the comeback with a three run bomb, but that is where it will end, as they can’t push across any more runs. Maize wins 21-15.
