Game #1 – Rock N Rebel vs. Wehrung’s

Mark McCouch Jr starts the night off with a bang, with an opening solo bomb deep into the Hatfield woods. Wehrungs get going in the bottom of the second, which an RBI single from Luke Hendricks and a two run double from Erik Senderling. Rebel tie this game up in the third, with two sac flies from McCouch and Ed Reynolds. The next action doesn’t come until the sixth when we get a run off an error as Rebel takes the lead. Wehrung’s get three runs in the bottom of the inning on a Nick Myers RBI single and two run bomg from Dave Nagel. Rebel steps to the plate in the seventh needing two to tie the game up. McCouch Jr. gets one of those runs on a solo bomb and the other comes on an Ed Reynolds RBI triple as we head to extra innings. Both teams score one in the eighth so we head to the ninth, since time is still left. Rebel erupt in the ninth as they bat around and score a whopping 12 runs. Mark McCouch Sr. highlights the inning with a grand slam, while Bob Kolecki also knocked in two runs in the inning. Wehrung’s get a couple runs back in the bottom of the inning, but that is all they can get as they will fall. Rebel wins 19-9.

Game #2 – Rock N Rebel vs. Altek

Erik Stalford gets Rebel started after a big emotional first game with a two run double followed up by an RBI triple from Ed Reynolds. Altek comes back in the bottom of the inning with three runs of their own, getting all three on a bomb from Kevin Cwikla. Back to back RBI singles from Reynolds and Emily Kline net Rebel two more runs to increase their lead. Again, Altek fights back. Altek gets a two run double from Nick Cataldi. Both teams go quiet for a couple of innings. Altek break that sequence with a solo bomb from Catadli to tie the game up. Rebel strikes late again, the theme of today, putting up five runs in the sixth inning. Bob Koleci gets a run across on a bases loaded walk and McCouch Sr and Jr. each drive in a run on a fielder’s choice. Ed Reynolds also added an RBI single later in the inning. Rebel shuts it down defensively and they will take both games of their doubleheader. Rebel wins 11-6.

Game #3– Maize vs. Altek

Maize gets going with a two run bomb off the bat of Gary Kleinschmidt giving them an early lead. Michelle Eggito and Bob Garges also have RBI singles in the inning to give them a 4-0 lead. Altek cuts that in half, with an RBI single from Tony Luizza and RBI double from Adam Volpe. Kleinschmidt gets the scoring going again for Maize with an RBI single and Keith Bellinger also gets into the action with an RBI single of his own. Maize continue that scoring in the fourth and fifth inning netting two runs in each of the innings. Defense shuts down the remaining innings as they one stays as a low scoring game. Maize will hold off Alteks late push and hold on to this one. Maize wins 10-6.
