Game 1: Vertex v. Dingers

Vertex starts the night with a big night from Mike Bitterlich. Mike was 3-3 with 3 runs scored and 5 ribbies; blasting a 3-run HR in the 5th. Matt Schaub also went yard in the 7th with a 2-run shot while Dave DeStephanis went 3-4 with 2 runs scored.

Dingers would try to keep up with the Vertex offense after plating 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th and 3 in the 6th. Brandon Birkhead smashed a solo shot in the 6th and Connor O’Keefe had two hits. But, Dingers managed just 9 runs to Vertex’s 14 and take the L.

Game 2: Beers v. Coal Fried Pizza

As CFP gets used to the league…they again struggled in game 2. Justin Gaumer singled and scored in the first…but that’s it. They managed just 5 more hits the rest of the way.

On the other hand, a massacre. Ryan Calebro with 2 triples, Ryan Maley with 6 rbi, Ryan Henritzy with 5 rbi, Scott Runzer with 3 runs scored, Josh Goldberg with two extra base hits, Matt Kane with 2 doubles, Connor MacFarlane with a tripled short of the cycle…just to name a few. 23 runs scored and well, an easy victory.

Game 3: Coal Fried Pizza v. Cale’s Pale Ales

Well, this game was an absolute shoot out with a 24-21 final.
CFP found their ways very quickly this night and took advantage. Jay Stein with a 3 run homer in the 1st to go along with Mike Marcelline’s 2-run single. Brendan Parker also homered in the inning capping an 11-run…first inning outburst. Mark Kennedy tripled home 2 more runs in the 3rd and Jay Stein drove in his 4th run of the game with an rbi triple in the 6th. CPF exploded for 24 runs.

CPA tried to keep pace and did. A 7-run 3rd and 6-run 5th certainly kept them in the game. TJ Onthrop with three hits (2b and 2 tripled) while scoring 3 times. Jacob Savely went 4-5 with 4 runs scored and an rbi. But CPA would be on the short end of this one, falling by 3! What a game.

Game 4 : Team Horsham v. Mike’s Bar & Grill

Horsham must have drank the same as the game 3 participators as they were in route to a 27 run outburst of their own. A HUGE 7th inning really put the cap on the game as they exploded for runs in that inning alone. Vinie Pascal had a 5-5 night with 2 doubles, 6 rbi and scoring twice.

Mike’s came out of the game looking to keep pace with a 6 run first. Matt McReynolds with a 2-run double highlighted the inning. But Mike’s really failed to do much thereafter. Two runs in the 5th, 1 in the 6th and 1 in the 7th is all they would do the rest of the game pushing their run total to . Horsham easily victors on the nightcap game, 27-11.
