Game 1: Cale’s Pale Ales v. Mike’s York Street Bar & Grill

Mike’s Win by forfeit.

Game 2: Team Horsham v. HG Coal Fired Pizza

CFP looked to continue adding to the W column. Facing a shorthanded opponent, they were certainly in shape to do so. Justin Gaumer homered in the 1st inning…BUT…no more offense until the 4th inning. There they managed to push three more men across and added another run in the 5th off the bat of Brendan Parker who tripled. Chris Adams doubled home a run in the 4-run 6th and Mike Marcelline singled home 2 runs in the 5-run 7th. CFP pushed across 14 runs.

Horsham faced the daunting task of trying to get a W with 9 men on the field. Not impossible, but certainly makes ir harder. It would take a nice offensive showing, and Horsham managed to do it. Casey Saverio, hitting from the lead off spot, had himself a night. A perfect 5-5 hitting for the cycle, smashing a 2-run shot in the 2nd and another 2-run shot in the 3rd. A 2-run double in the 4th and a sac fly for good measure in the 6th. Horsham needed just the 4th and 6th innings to decide this game. They plated 8 in the 4th and another 6 in the 6th. Their run total was 23 and well, they won!

Game 3: Beers v. Dingers

Dingers also playing shorthanded, and it showed. Luke Rossi walked to lead off the bottom half of the 1st and Dave followed up with a single. Connor O’Keefe and Rich Schmidt both singled home a run and that was it. Just 2 hits and a walk the rest of the way.

Beers on the other hand, fared well. Connor MacFarlane 3 rbi, Matt Kane 3 rbi, Alex Goldberg 3 rbi, Ryan Calabro 3 runs scored, Richie Acierno 3 runs scored, Ryan Henritzy 3 runs scored – A 5-run 1st, 5-run 2nd, 8-run 5th and 22 total runs scored. Beers victors by mercy, 22-2.

Game 4: Beers v. Vertex

Beers got a quick run in the 1st when Ryan M scored, got 3 more in the 2nd after Alex G tripled and drove in 2, Ryan H singled and scored in the 5th and Ryan M drove in 2 in the 6th with his single. Beers followed up their 22 runs in game 1 with just 8 in this one.

Vertex did not get to the 8-run mark until the 4th when they managed to push across their 9th run off of Mike Bitterlich’s single. But in the 6th, things changed. Rusell Miller reached base on an error to lead off the inning and that apparently opened the flood gates. An out would not be recorded in the inning until the 13th batter of the inning. Wow. Justin tripled home a run, Matt Crowell doubled home another, Keith Crowell singled home 2, Matt Crowell then singled home 2 more (3 rbi in the inning) and Keith Crowell also drove in the 3rd run of the inning with a FC. Keith’s 3rd rbi would activate the mercy rule as they were now up by 15. Impressive inning; Vertex by 15.
